so on second viewing tonite's 7 o clock hour... Colbert says to Ariana to "Keep going, we're off the air. ...We're over time. We'll figure out what to use later. We'll cut whatever makes me look bad." and she says not to cut re him going to Baghdad ~? ~ ah so maybe they really did go over time and what was on the show was edited, huh. anyway this is where Stephen behind 'Stephen' really shows I guess - his delight, so endearing.

-Real Stephen has got to be the most charming thing ever! I love it when he breaks character (Filliam H. Muffman!) or has great chemistry with a guest (Arianna & Annie) and just starts laughing because it's so rare - it's always so startling but wonderful to see the pompous persona crack.
