Thursday 30 Oct - Fri 31 Oct at condo in Atl, w Hannah, love - she
had stopped to get her face wash. saw little icecreamish 'pint'
container. herbalism. green, texture, not full.
had me at ~ the name, color, texture.
what are *all* of these? edible plants? edible nature ~ honey. vanilla. almonds. wheat. berries, nuts.. herbs, spices... peppermint. .. parsley (a parsley soap).
tea tree oil. argan oil. flowering plants..trees.
charcoal. ~ minerals..
Wed 11/5 yesterday
went in to store across 16th (1525) on Walnut. mmm the soaps.
liked
megan. she handed me catalog, thinking I wld like it bcs of my
"comprehensive sniffing" / endearing. bcs yes. exactly. wanting to
comprehend. comprehension. comprehensive - of all. but also of each,
trying to understand, to have it. took pics, that is a help to that
want. but here needed way to take pic of the smell. of
the soaps mainly, mmm. that feeling, trying to hold, cannot. comprehend. 'what heart heard, ghost guessed'
got
small slice samples, that is pretty good as pic. /wld be willing
purchase $2, to get a lot. megan got me four of soap. and two of face
washes in little tiny tubs. pretty generous. with just purchase of
Herbalism quarter/lb 15.95 (she said last 2-3 weeks). longer for me, I
expect, bcs will use only sometimes. ..purchases start at 1/4 lb. or soap ~ $5 // .
will keep, as record the scent?
rather th use. how long will keep? and then what, will go bad ..
mold? think read keep in stores few months .. soap or other? true of
face wash? herbalism seems v fresh .. and shelf life ~ 14 mo? can look
up. some preservatives (none in fresh facial masks) ~ 'parabens'?
Lush - Rittenhouse Square - Philadelphia, PA | Yelp -About ingredients. the paraben thing is something they address on their
website- it's actually one of the safer preservatives (but one of the
most prominent), and they use very little of them, hence the posted
expiration dates on containers.
soap samples, wrapped in paper
of:
Ice blue (
peppermint).
Reindeer (
lingonberries).
s____
~sandoval? (
creamy white... not: snowcake, wh also liked ~ marzipan. might hv also wanted if not already asking for 4 samples!) ah, was
Sultana of soap.
and
wh was the fourth, over to the left closer to door? where all of the
above were on right, and were the first ones I went to.
and
lowest on the left, wish I had gotten sample of //though if I cap at 4
not 5, maybe got ones I want -- oh the 4th was Honey I shrunk the kids =
honey & caramel, esp wish to eat, said most popular soap? for family.. but while v nice sweet and cannot fully hold, less fascinating than --
'
Rock star' - why that name? bcs pink? for a girl dreaming of rock stardom? smelled
pinkish
maybe medicinal in appealing way (what is the flavor of pepto bis? hmm,
ggl.. cherry. shld be obvs? but it's ~ distinct, artificial sweetish)
if did again wld get that as fourth.
next time go there, maybe. especially if make purchase, okay to ask.

easier to go faster, less compulsion to comprehend w other products,
though pleasant. bath bombs & bath bubbles crumbly - liked Holly
Golightly silver sparkle w holly atop smell christmasy. tht to get for
mom but she d n do baths now. the honey bath bomb was nice to me.

Ro's Argan body conditioner. argan oil ~ flowering plant tree] tht to get mom rose gift of those two in small sizes, 16.95, less than most their gifts. but had on hand & applier stick
in back pocket (grey corduroys) and later in car ~ needed window open.
not so strong but maybe. and mom liked but d n ooh ah. still, cld get
the spherical winter garden present, hangs as ornament, reusable. has the rose, and a balm for dry skin (megan said kept feeling her elbow) wh mom might like?), and... snowflake soap maybe? yes 'creamy, almond scented.' yes maybe get this for mom.
Winter Garden Gift | Wrapped | LUSH well hmm 39.95 better if 29.95... so ~ only maybe.

maybe
will try 'fresh pharmacy' for sensitive problem skin. comes as soap.
rec'd by other sales person who approached me at soaps.
also on
megan's recommendation, may try -esp in summer- the Mask of
Magnanimity. told me about when I was lkg at ice blue soap. mask has
peppermint. she said is best to use when just feel clogged. my back!
clogged feeling yes. and actually says mask for face and back.
if ever up to going to their spa, there in back of store (maybe w Hannah if she visits), can get back treatment incl that?

charcoal mask 'dark angels' dark crumbly } I like texture, as w herbalism.

started as Cosmetics to Go ..
int
that Lush selling of book abou th describes this company as~ failing.
rather than as transforming. becoming Lush. for drama?
Lush.usa - Danger! Cosmetics to Go
Cosmetics to Go book tells the story of the meteoric rise and
devastating fall of the
dynamic company
that came before LUSH, Cosmetics to Go.
the invention of the Bath Bomb /ah so that did start w them?/, swoon
over loads of early LUSH inventions, and get the inside LUSH gossip
straight from the inventors themselves.
Ytube [2:33] Cosmetics To Go Book Prvw w author Mira Manga
"
a shooting star that then fell to earth, leaving just a pile of ashes" /cld they not hv described this as transforming. well maybe they will say: phoenix...?

and The Body Shop. when in London. they got me fr the back a poster
that I wanted to put up in room at home, I suppose I did. think of how
my room at age 12 had all that ~ of the world life. ~ of people.
surfaces. *cosmetic*.
earlier, in Berlin? so excited magaz
offer for cllctn of many (50? 100?) sample size cosmetics. never came.
I waited for it, so I must have mailed the request. maybe an image of a
mailbox. what did the military (had own, right? APO) mailboxes look
like)? a stamp. maybe)
and all of London had that magic glamour for me on that trip. the tube. wax museum. rock music.
----look up Body Shop. still does exist. here is on chesnut, inside.~ liberty shops. is no longer as successful? now Lush much more? but Body Shop goes back 20 years earlier than Lush started in 90s. is it or was The Body Shop as appealing? ...I suppose not all one maker? various suppliers. wh I say bcs read th guy who started Lush first made for Body Shop:
Lush (company) - Wkp:
Mark Constantine
started mixing potions in his kitchen for
Anita (& Gordon) Roddick and became a supplier of
The Body Shop in the 1970s. Mark Constantine, an herbal
trichologist [ (from Greek θρίξ, gen.: τριχός, "hair") the branch of dermatology that deals with the scientific study of the health of hair and scalp.] and Elizabeth Weir, had an interest in
beauty therapy and thus, formed a company named Constantine & Weir.
[6 Big Bk hist of cosmetics to go]
They developed a number of recipes for bath and beauty products and
were a major supplier to The Body Shop, until Roddick was consulted to
take more products inhouse. The Body Shop then paid £6m for the rights
of Constantine & Weir's recipes.
mixing of potions, yes. that is the child's magic.
I made gum (?) in a special ~ ~ of leaves, backyard Kensington.
