this 2hour Boston Legal finale is oddly bad after such excellent shows pretty consistently through the season. too bad.
-poorly written& ~acted monologue by teenage niece "real depression affects you physically, you literally cannot get up ... ryan had it. I gave him my dosage, he wasn't supposed to die!" well no. what, he died from a dose? of an anti-depressant? (did they say and I missed it or is this plotline awfully vague?)
-the Denise vs Marlene vying, with the run to the elevator, did not work for me. just seemed goofy, unintegrated. and what's the deal with Marlene? well ok maybe I am out of some important loop, having not watched (just barely for a few min) last week's episode.
-and Alan, I'm even feeling not much like for Alan here. ~
but Michael J Fox is supposed to show up, so not turning it off yet.

ok, the end was good.~partially. marlene still too much, with alan. and denny's "it's a sweeps episode" was ~too much through the 4th wall?, lessening the pleasure of-

alan: to next season. denny: same night? alan: god I hope.
and I did like shirley kissing denny: "just in case."
and michael j fox, to denise's "office politics, none of it matters." -- "whatever. um, you want to marry me?"
