The Closer - p.110 TWoP Forums recent - re last episode >“No Good Deed”..Estelle's outburst--The scene was heartbreaking and enfuriating and horrible to watch all at the same time, and I thought all of the actors did terrific jobs with their parts. Brenda looked terrified and sick, Taylor looked enthralled and satisfied, Estelle looked batshit crazy, and all the members of the team looked appropriately baffled and/or shocked. Provenza's comment to Flynn 'she said she didn't want to talk about it' really did win me over to his side (not that I ever DISliked him at all), as did Tao and Buzz's reactions in the sound room. Perfect.
I also thought there was an excellent tie-in to the convict and the teenager with Brenda and Fritz and the difference between writing "I love you" and saying "I love you",
oh right Brenda wrote and left note for Fritz and how you can do both and not mean either. I don't know if that's grasping at straws, but I'm sure she WANTS to love Fritz and put the whole deal with Pope behind her, but, as her lingering and regret-filled glance at the trashcan at the end of the episode (which--throw it away at work? Seriously?) showed, she's not quite at that stage.
Also, I took the "We're good" as Pope's way of saying, "I know you know I've still got feelings for you, and I also know you're trying to make this thing with Fritz work out, and I'm going to try and respect that, so you don't have to come upstairs and tell me you're not interested in a relationship, okay?" He wanted to skip the whole talk she wanted to have about how she was committed to Fritz. Whether she's truly as committed as she was prepared to tell Pope is another story altogether. -Chiaroscuro - Post #1648
