I don't think it was terribly out of character for Brenda to defend her team. I know she's always been portrayed as very by-the-book she is? seems like she likes to do things her way but I also think loyalty means a lot to her. She got caught up, she walked in to Pope's yelling and was just trying to catch up so she'd already put herself in it by the time she even knew what was happening. I freakin loved it and don't care about any of the weaker elements.
--Though with the kind of car Lt. Flynn drives Provenza's worries about a raise in rent I wonder how they will be able to afford the plasma televisions, power books, suits and the rest of things they owe the team. It was a great shot of them standing outside Brenda'a office as she gave them the list of gifts they needed to but.--
I think Provenza's living situation and Flynn's crappy car are both explained by a string of ex-wives and them being cheap.
-I thought the implication was they were the resident cheap skates except when it came to baseball.

Brenda told the father/murderer that he was protecting his own and she understood that. She was also protecting her own. ah I didn't get what her understanding referenced. she's looking out for Flynn & Provenza.

The dialogue in the beginning when Brenda first goes into the office was so hokey. I kept expecting them to say- We save lives, dammint. We save lives, or people die. mm few good men, jack nicholson on stand.

First, when they take the dead cop out of the warehouse, and they call for attention, only some of them salute? Why don't all of them? Perhaps someone who knows cop procedure/etiquette would know better.
You only salute if you're wearing a uniform. ok, huh. If you are in civilian clothes, you remove a hat (if worn) and place your hand over your heart. Same goes for the Pledge of Allegiance, reville, and taps. right I've been at taps at Walter Reed. I was very glad to see they got that right. A lot of shows don't.

Commander Taylor's promotion provides him with a rank increase and salary increase, but he's still head of Robbery-Homicide.
oh that's who he is.
