lonelygirl broken wide open now!
Lonelygirl15 - Wikipedia: This article documents a current event. Information may change rapidly as the event progresses.
Applause for lonelygirl15, and DVD Extras Ny Times "Screens" blog entry by Virginia Heffernan with updated information on lonelygirl15 --- nicely done:
1. First, the curtain call.
2. Next, the memorabilia: Jessica Rose, actress, and Mesh Flinders, screenwriter, on the set of “lonelygirl15.”(Photo: Grant Steinfeld)
3. Then, some documentation, for the hardcore lg15 fan. I think it’s fascinating.

the curtain call = an article in the paper proper, by Virginia H and a co-writer

The Lonelygirl That Really Wasn’t - New York Times
A nearly four-month-old Internet drama in which the cryptic video musings of a fresh-faced teenager became the obsession of millions of devotees — themselves divided over the very authenticity of the videos, or who was behind them or why — appears to be in its final act.
The woman who plays Lonelygirl15 on the video-sharing site YouTube.com has been identified as Jessica Rose, a 20-ish resident of New Zealand and Los Angeles and a graduate of the New York Film Academy.
huh so how come no acquaintances fr LA or NY id'd her earlier?! if she's been in NY & LA, sems like she'd be recognizable to more people than could be made to sign non-disclosre agreements -oh wait sounds like NYFA is actually in La, ok so maybe she hadn't been there long..
And the whole project appears to be the early serialized version of what eventually will become a movie. well cool. (will it actually be done as if on webcam? or was this a promo-teaser ~more than it was a 'version'?)
The masterminds of the Lonelygirl15 videos are Ramesh Flinders, a screenwriter and filmmaker from Marin County, Calif., and Miles Beckett, a doctor turned filmmaker. The high quality of the videos caused many users to suspect a script and production crew, but Bree’s bedroom scenes were shot in Mr. Flinders’s home, in his actual bedroom, typically using nothing more than a Logitech QuickCam, a Web camera huh that's cool that retails for about $150.

back on Screens blog:
Natural light, simple camera, Adobe Premiere to edit.so technically not actually beyond what a girl cld do on her own, esp if has friend who is pretty good at editing If the talent is good enough (with perfect lineless skin) you don’t need overly fancy codex. codex? ok: A codex — informally referred to as a "production bible" — is an official working guidebook prepared for the production of a movie Codex (disambiguation) - Wikip main: handwrit book
+ Two of the creators gave up their bedrooms for lonelygirl15. They shot video in these rooms by day, and slept in them by night. Mesh Flinders’s bedroom was used for Bree’s. Miles Beckett’s was used for Daniel’s.

huh same article as above in Nytimes - technology also ran th day before (~frnt of sxn? - diff layout) nytimes.com/2006/09/12/technology/12cnd-lonely with headline:
‘Lonely Girl’ (and Friends) Just Wanted Movie Deal
and larger photo -- about wh, on Wkpd talk page:Can that rather sophisticated looking photo of her, taken by (the probably soon to be unemployed for breaking an NDA) Grant Steinfeld, which appeared on the NY Times website be included? - http://graphics10.nytimes.com/images/2006/09/12/us/600_lonely.jpg
