1-3: "Sorry, Wrong Number" 2006.10.04 - TWoP Forums p5:
-I too dvr'd Kidnapped and watched The Nine...I'll stick with Kidnapped: much better show,
better written, beautifully acted, and better scored.
I'm thinking Aubrey did see part of her mom's breakdown but they didn't have time to show it.
ah good call - it needed some moment of seeing that parents don't want to be acting like evth's ok. I also think Knapp's watching mom's every move and made sure he covered her silly delivery. The 'you don't think we'd be stupid enough to have her come alone' comment was definitely directed at mom. yeah I tht it was even "you didn't think -she- wld be stupid enough. pointed. ah that I think is irony right. DD was great in every scene and again I love a show where the kids can really act. Of course it's getting cancelled.
I got the feeling that when the Mexican "cop" went to the bar to share a cerveza, he was there on orders from the kidnapper who just wanted Bowers and Otto to play along until the job was done.
play along (with what?) or get along? I had the feeling the cop was on orders but to what purpose?
--Particularly liked how Anthony Rapp's character seems to know relevant details but has had no phone calls or visitors in jail.-- What's with the nonstop play with the cigarette lighter. I know he made a joke about not having the "right" to smoke but they did far too many shots of the lighter. What's in there? (Besides a wick and fluid)
ah sharp obsrv
-I was one who made the mistake of watching The Nine, and blah, no, I won't make that mistake again. Second Lost ends, I'll be at NBC for sure. I care way more about the Cain family than I will ever care about any of those 9 people.
I really like Aubrey and I thought that she stuck me as a fairly intelligent, witty person, who had a few minutes to realize her parents had disappeared and she was going to have to do this so she didn't have to come up with the words as she spoke. The speech was late by the body language of the extras but once she got up and started hunting for a glass I think she'd finished coming up with what she was going to say.

-Daddy Cain still has some thug in him. I appreciate that. yeah tht that scene was hot.
-Loved seeing Conrad show some of the old neighborhood in him. I think the stylists screwed up with Conrad's hair -- it's too long and unruly for his station in life -- but it did work when you saw him rougher. walking away flexing his hands..
-This episode was fantastically good, and I can't believe the show isn't popular, apparently. The acting last night was excellent. Great character shown in Sully. Laughing while being dangled from a roof? How tough can anybody be? I love that Cain is a hardass, and the kids are perfectly cast -- having their father's brains and toughness, coupled with their mother's dignity.
--I love that Cain is a hardass -Ooh, me too. This is the first time I have liked him. I actually said stuff out loud when he was using a garbage can to beat up his old friend/crony. Then, this was the best part, he threw the garbage can against the guy's car. That is pretty damn serious. For some reason that completely thrilled me.

plot points..
-
I think Leopold might be trying to give himself an infection, or something that looks like an infection. They can't kill him until they get the money, and they know someone will want to hear Leopold's voice before they get paid.
I think the kidnapper had Sullivan killed, either because he's in on it but not following the rules, or maybe thinking that Sullivan would interfere. Who shot Sully? dad was shown walking but... not him?
--I’m guessing Kellogg (Rapp) guy in jail flicking his lighter planned the whole thing out, day by day, and that’s how he knows what’s happening. The others are just following his plan. -He obviously shares a history with Knapp regarding a kidnapped girl. If he orchestrated this, is it all tied to Knapp having nothing to do with the Cains and their family secrets? I think he is a very interesting twist. -The show would be interesting enough but Larry, the mysterious jailed guy, is fascinating.
I would like to hear more backstory on why Leo needed a bodyguard to begin with - but Aubrey was completely unguarded at college.

-I had soccer at 7:30 and we go out to the bar afterward. What? We have to put on the calories that we burn right after the game. I like that 'What?' though cldnt say what it's doing ~ role-playing a qstn fr a listener ~?
Alice making the comment to Jimbo about how they took her brother simply broke my heart.

-Favorite line of the week: (when Knapp threatens to throw Tucker out the window) "He doesn't like that idea." And then he gives this hand shrug, like Go Figure.

-Man, I love this show. The plot just keeps going, and unlike a lot of other shows, I think it's going somewhere.
