Heroes -- watching online (6pm ish really, changing time stamp, may as well do a bit of grouping of comments on shows)... looks like only available until next episode airs, and then that one is available for a week and so on?
hey this ad for the movie Running with Scissors is fun. is it Annette Benning who is being so funny? therapist says he needs to see the couple 5 hours a day, husband says 5 hours! I can't do that; she says to the therapist, I told you, I'm married to a narcissist. great delivery. and maybe the same woman, after man says he hasn't had a drink in 3 years, again dead pan: excuse me, could you get this man a medal? and gwyneth paltrow appears saying Awesome when -What are you doing? -Electroshock therapy. paltrow seeming like her char in whatsthatmoviecalled R---- about the family all in bright colors red track suites gene hackman and the wilson brothers. she doesnt have all the make up here but still just in saying that one line, she seems like that character. huh on second seeing of this trailer, maybe that's (largely) bcs the girl she's talking to has the dark eye make up? once again, my vague sense of things actually from a distinct visual fact ~
so, Heroes: Peter in Manhattan. Clare in Tx. Mohinder in Brooklyn. Nikki in Las Vegas.
twop forums: -Aww, I love this crazy show.
-What's totally unexpected about this show for me is the atmosphere of the show. I tuned in for superheroes using superpowers, but they use a lot of horror movie conventions to build suspense, and they're doing an excellent job of completely, totally freaking me out. The shovel poking out of the ground in the desert, the gruesome crime scenes, the frozen headless corpses...
(I went in looking for cmmt I recall re how it like several different shows in one - a teen drama when clare is on, ... and what? I can't find the comment on first 5 pgs and don't think I'd read beyond that.
ah ha! yay the search engine. (signed in for first time - yay gt registration to work) at first search took me to a list of threads wh was confusing, but then I saw to check "show results as posts" rather than as topics. and then worked great. should this mean that I stop cut-pasting so much here? since part of the rationale of that was so I could search out cmmts I recalled...
-1-2: "Don't Look Back" 2006.10.02 - TWoP Forums p11: The thing I love about this show is how diverse it is. One second your in a hip teen show with Claire, then a Lost type show, then some kind of creepy horror movie, then a brotherly drama. I love it!
whose storyline is like Lost?
teen show is Clare, brothers is Peter & Nathan, the horror movie is Nikki, well I guess Mohindar "you must tell me everything he told you, about the theories and the map" I guess that's Lost-type?
and I see what the commenters mean about Mohindar's neighbor friend either being an agent working against him -probably so- or a bad actress, see the scene of her upset to hear that M's dad is dead and saying how they were friends.
and whoa Clare being knocked over by the football player, and her neck totally snapped around, we see along with her videographer-friend her face looking at him in line with her back - yikes - and then she cranks it around. yaoza. football guy says guess you arent so dainty after all, she says I'm dainty enough. dumbish flirty but I like her actually, except..does seem mean to her videoer-friend, I dont like that.
anyway, favorite story is Nikki, but I like Clare's teen drama a lot too. and the brother and Mohindar stories are not bad...
