Writing Process
An episode generally takes about two to three weeks from breaking the episode, which means establishing the narrative thrust and the major plot points and character arcs, to outlining the episode, which is a more indepth detailing of the act breaks and structure, to writing the actual episode.By the time we've done everything else we usually have about 3 to 11 days to write the episode! Sometimes only two. Luckily we have braintrust of brilliant writers who work around the clock. We are
right now shooting the tenth episode of the series and it is a particularly important episode because it will run as a "Sweeps" episode...which is when the networks and the soap sellers haggle over eyeballs and price.
Resolution
A lot of you jilted loyalists who have found yourselves on the wrong end of a bad breakup with a serialized TV series are looking for
reassurance that the show will be resolved regardless of the network order. The answer is yes, absolutely! It's not something that we like to think about, but in the interest of being fair, we have a 22 episode arc and a 13 episode contingency plan waiting in the wings. So fear not!
