I only saw those last 5 minutes, talking to mom on phone about penult Gilmore Girls - which was lovely. tied back to earlier in series (Logan about jumping with Rory at the Life & Death Brigade event) and Lorelai was recognizable as the character I admire. esp when watching Rory closely as Logan proposed - all concern & attention to her daughter. I liked the two girls together in the carriage - first time in recent years maybe that I've felt their closeness. I liked how Chris & Lorelai were with each other. I loved Grandpa's 'you mean Kissinger?' -Lorelai "not unless he was the fonz' - eventual, considered: "Kissinger would have been more boring than Kundera. the Fonz would be better."
I teared at grandparents' pride (they sang a song for Rory) and at Paris telling Rory she would do great things & giving her a big hug.
I think it is ending very nicely.
(I missed one section after opening credits - what did Luke overhear Lorelai say? that hurt him? as per tvguide summary - oh sth about her song not meaning anyth)
"When your fool comes home" mmm mmm nice this song for the cold open on Boston Legal, as Jerry walks into the firm, greeting everyone "How's the family?" "How 'bout those Sox? and then wow - great opening credits - Jerry saying to Shirley that just the thought of coming back to CP&S makes him so happy he sings a song in his head. she asks him to sing a few bars -"really, I'd like to hear the song"- and (I did not see this coming!) he breaks into singing the opening theme music! Dun-duh, dn-n-na na na na! and the camera cuts back to him singing so giddily and shirley watching, imbetween the standard credit footage of the characters. great great
