1-4: "The Wrath Of Con" 2004.10.19 - TWoP Forums:
-Since this was not supposed to be a TV show, but a novel, all the important stuff was planned in advanced. The main arcs and and storylines, as well as most major characterization, were well thought, laid out, and followed through with, and most of the major storylines get wrapped up in the end.
You can tell it was supposed to be a novel because of how effectfully
cool - oh - effectively wld be the conventional word the arcs are set up and RESOLVED (I am looking at you Lost), with little clues (including one in this eppie that I guarante you missed since you do not know yet what to look for) sprinkled in throughout the season. If you stick with it, you will be sastified with the end result :)
However I may be in the minority when I say that RT does read our posts and try to keep us happy and resolves issues that we have with the show. For instance (up to the point where you are so that I do not spoil) I feel, and someone else pointed out that they tried to 'color code' the rich boys for us when we could not tell them apart.
that's funny. [saw this 7/10: AZ- Veronica Mars Season 3: Unbox Video -- trivia A color code was created where Dunn wore blues, and Dohring wore earth tones (greens, browns, etc). The color code still stands today.] And I believe that RT kept in the back of his mind our Mary Sue complaints ?? and in later eppisodes..

edited to clarify, the clue I was talking about in this eppie was about another storyline, that arises later in the future, not about the murder.
about what? maybe about jake kane as father?
now that I have seen the end I want to know know about clues that were there all along, if there were any.

I finished it last night. though feeling sick I was hooked and watched last two episodes.
satisfying. the murder mystery was not that guessable and was not intricate in its solution, but that is okay, that is more realistic.
and did everything pan out, tie together?
Clarence Wiedman was just involved for the sake of protecting Duncan? which is a bit at odds with how evil he seemed, but I guess moneyed obstruction of justice is ominous even if motive not nefarious?

and so we end the season with V opening the door and saying, I hoped it would be you.
..and I've heard that it is Duncan. and we left Logan up on the ledge of the highway bridge, drunk and teetering, saying to the biker boys, What are you gonna do to me? and Weevil saying he will think of something. (I don't see how). I am glad I know Logan will be okay. I'm pretty in love with Logan.
boy, every time he is on screen especially with V once thy were together, I wanted a cigarette. bcs excited? and boy early on I thought, would this guy really be getting the girls? he has a little boy face, kind of awkward. but man. charisma, forget about it. "Goodbye, Dick." -What? -"If you have a problem with Veronica, then get out of my house." - "In fact if you have a problem with Veronica, you're pretty much dead to me, so just, I don't know, evaporate or something." - "That's sort of a general invitation. If you have a problem with my girlfriend [cut to Duncan registering this] then head for the rectangle with the knob."
Duncan is nice but - I bet the forums are saying this - the spark is all Logan. "All I want to do is protect you." That first kiss scene, where he has shown up to rescue her - "Dream on, jump street, I'm not leaving you alone with her" - and afterward she gives him a quick kiss, his look at her - what is it? intensity in his eyes looking at her? - and then pulls her back. wow. I love how organically they got together, you never see them thinking about it, realizing it, this just happens. and then they never talk about it, no "I've started really caring about you", it's just happening. I love how he says her name. I think it's his voice, that's a big part of his charisma -- hey, it's that voice & expressions thing, they go together - cadence in the voice, expressions on the face. expressiveness. hot.
Leo was likable, so that was well-played, believable she would like him but that it would be no rival to what starts happening with Logan. but Leo has a nice delivery of her name as well (I've started thinking I really like this name, as in I'd want to name a girl Veronica), when he knocked on V's car door at the dance, where she is crying: What's wrong, Veronica? - so, are you ready for: a total eclipse of the heart? - he has that sweet charming low gargle sort of intonation. Risky business, 12 o'clock. and it's drunk Logan, who looks at him, who's this dude?
Duncan is nice but bland, goes well with Meg. and I liked the scene where V nods her toward Duncan at the dance, sadly, and Meg wonderingly looks back at her. maybe it works well for he and V to get back together now that the specter of being siblings is removed, and then end things calmly and move on. I hope that is how this goes. and I hope they show Meg. that character deserves to be seen reacting to this. read somewhere that they should be careful with this, Veronica-Duncan-Logan, that way lies DawsonsCreek. there are yes logistical similarities. Duncan like Dawson is the calm one who came first in the girl's like. Logan like Pacey is his best friend. and hella charismatic. (in fact Pacey like Logan, my first rxn was, he's cute? but a little later swooning and waiting for his scenes. he's not got the darkness of Logan, though, as befitting the fluff of the show. but not to forget, Pacey is very very appealing. if not as all out hot, as Logan toward V.) and the big difference, Joey eh, Veronica right on.

so, I will have season two late this month, shipping ~26 July from az.. I'd watch for Logan if nothing else. but while I have read from some that season 2 is not as good, others like it as much or even more.
