Sometimes one is forced in a direction that one ought to have chosen for oneself.
It takes dignity & intelligence to serve. They are just people with money. Though we serve them, we are not their servants. We are not defined by what we do. I think you will make an excellent manager one day, and it was my pleasure to work with you.
that's said by the butler (? I think - the head of the serving staff?) who quit when Jennifer Lopez's character is fired in Maid in Manhattan, on tv right now. on FX. I'm all FX all the time now! anyway it's a totally predictable fluff piece but J Lo is not bad and the lead -politician man- is not bad. mainly, I was moved by the butler's speech (though mostly just that first line, with it's ones & oughts). very dignified delivery.
ah, and now a nice speech from lead man, roughly:

I met Ms Venturra and her son during my stay in New York. and we became - friends. There are people from all walks of life whom I count as friends. My only regret in this instance is that, because of her friendship with me, Ms Venturra was subjected to the invasion and innuendo of the press.
and yes J lo is fine, with her son:
It's not fate. It's New York City and an available conference room.
and lead man is sweet with son, who comes to the press conference and asks him a question in front of everyone. and lead man remembers that the boy has trouble with public speaking, and he goes to him and says That was a really good speech. -Really? -Had them eating out of your hand.
and the boy shows him that he is holding a paper clip, like lead man told him he does. and lead man shows him that he is holding his own clip. -Cool.
then man, Where is she? and they go find the mom, and lead man says How about we start over, you as you, me as me. and she holds out hand: I'm Marissa, housekeeping. -I'm Chris Matthews, candidate for the US Senate. I'd like your vote. - We'll see.
ok brava, successful cute end, so it's better than I though. closes showing the New York Post & other covers "A Romance Maid in Manhattan" & "Will They Last?" & a Management magazine showing Marissa & etc about other characters & finally "A Year Later Still Going Strong."
that lead man actor is charismatic, I guess, that helps a lot.
