John from C .. Deadwood ..

TWoP John From Cincinatti recaplet [by Mr Sobell]: His Visit: Day One (premiere):
That leaves us with John -- mysterious, annoying John. He shows up at the beach one day, saying 'The end is near,' and then spends the rest of the episode repeating whatever anyone else says back to them. Oh, and he can pull things magically out of his pockets if you ask him -- money, credit cards, and so forth. Maybe someone should ask him for a comprehensible narrative.
All that plus a surfing lawyer, a gun-toting lottery winner, Al Bundy as an addled ex-cop, and Dylan McKay as an oily agent. Weird show you're on there, bro.
hehee, I like that. Mr. Sobell was the recapper for Kidnapping right? until it switched to Saturday, which "is his canasta night." I like his write-ups.

.... yes:
Mr Sobell recapped the first three episodes of Kidnapped -- Television Without Pity Kidnapped
not to be confused with Sobell, whose Big Love recaps I have posted from here.
... but I guess I did not post anything here from the three Kidnapped recaps? just from the forums and forum-members recaps, later?
but I liked Mr. Sobell's first three, I think. eg #1:
Can't Spell "Kidnapped" without the "Knapp"

and Tim Goodman panned (is that the word?) this John from Cincinnati show on his bastard machine blog. really panned it. said he'd seen not just the pilot but the first three episodes, meaning no it is not likely to be just a negative first rxn. he got 78 cmmts in that post (at lst one posted below, from Hickcity, about levels of addiction to Deadwood - TWoP John From Cincinatti recaplet [by Mr Sobell]: His Visit: Day One (premiere) ) bcs this show is by David Milch (I think that's the name) who wrote Deadwood the cancellation of which (after three seasons I guess) was a big disappointment to lots of people.
I asked Katy today about whether Deadwood was written with actually Shakespeare-esque
dialogue, since I hear sth to that effect. She said it's in iambic pentameter. nice.
////2015/03//17  no.  it's not, mostly.  can google and find discussn of this, and attempted scansion.  does sometimes have iambic feel, especially monologues by Al Swearengen and by EB Farnum .  plus the diction there, the articulate elegant grammar ~ suggestive of Shakespeare ~?
