Karaoke! TWoP recap p12 Clash Of The Tritons: Veronica steels herself and goes to the stage. Veronica tells us that the song she's going to sing goes out to the Tritons, and Blondie's 'One Way Or Another' kicks up. Hee. Veronica's over-the-top hamming, which is nice to see for three reasons: One, Veronica's genuinely enjoying herself, which, despite her quick wit and sunny smile, doesn't happen all that often. Two, she's getting some social acceptance, because the audience is into it. And three, if you're not hamming it up when you do karaoke, you're not in the same solar system as the point.
The judges love her, and Duncan smiles.

cbaron has a thing here about how he does not mind that song is an anvil bcs the message is steamrolled by her hamming it up - an anvil, huh? the message that she is going to get them? that's not a hint for the audience, that's her bragging to / confronting them.
weird that cbaron wouldn't know that, he must know that, just thinks it's still an anvil? weird. it's not heavy-handed if it's organic to the character & the scene, from within.
