Most vehicles w automatic transmissions cannot be started this way bcs th hydraulic torque converter in th transmission will not allow th engine to be driven by th wheels. By pushing th car, th wheels make th gearbox rotate. engaging a gear & clutching in may make th engine start by th power of th turning wheels. A too low rolling speed may result in the engine not being able to start.
