my impressions of the beginning. having not read anything or heard/seen any rxns (watching pbs)

ok McCain does seem a lot more comfortable in this format
maybe it's that or maybe he realized how badly he came off last time
so this time he put his hand on Obama's arm when they shook hands upon entering the stage
and he is not seeming so angry.

so it's much less intense, focused, tight (how long do they get to answer audience qstns? seems long, relaxed.)
int to have them walking around.
and if it were me, I'd feel exposed. nothing to get behind of (no podium, no
could get boring bcs any specific qstn re economy, bailout can have them making the same pts over & over.

are the 1-min discussn qstns, wh Brokaw asks, the ones from email? ..no, he just gave first internet qstn. so I guess the 'discussn qstns' were his own.

qstn 1 fr older white man re retirees in financial crisis, how help - I d n hear Obama answer the qstn. McCain at least referenced it.

discussion qstn re who wld you appoint for treasury secretary? good.
credit to McCain for saying Wllm Buffet who he noted has been helping Obama wld be good. & he likes Sarah __.
most imp, he said, has to be someone ppl feel trustworthy. good answer.

qstn 2 young black man (and I am thinking of post just saw on asullivan, quoting from tnr blog re Uncommitted Voters - audience shld represent demographics of Amer, so 13% black, are there black voters still considering McCain?) : how does bail out help me?
ok this time Obama way more than McCain spoke to the qstn: Let me tell you some of the things that are in the bail out that effect you.
..businesses can't get loans, then can't make payroll..
