the third, and longest, to cry.

Easter - by Adélia Prado

Age

and a certain acidity.

I divide my day into three parts:
the first to look at photographs,
the second to look in mirrors,
the third, and longest, to cry.

Dysrhythmia  - by Adélia Prado

Old people spit with absolutely no finesse
and bicycles bully traffic on the sidewalk.

...

We give birth to life between our legs
and go on talking about it till the end,    //that is, about sex?/
few of us understanding:
it's the soul that's erotic.

The Alphabet in the Park: Selected Poems of Adelia Prado  | ggl bks
Favorites included:  "Dysrhythmia", "Not Even One Line in December", "Denouement".  I felt like some things may have been lost on me in translation."Dysrhythmia," which opens the collection, threw me for such a loop that I feel like I may have expected too much of the rest of the selection. //not incl in ggl preview, and seems not to be typed out in full anywh on web..
above, found on The Widening Spell: Adelia Prado: Poet of "Excarnation!, are only "the opening lines."'
