Justified ... and ode to Terriers

Review: Justified 3-1 “The Gunfighter” - The A.V. Club
-I know Neal McDonough's character is from Detroit. I know that. But I still want to think that he's from the greater San Diego metro area, and that he had to move back East because of the heat caused by a certain unlicensed private investigator. //righhht. recognized him fr last epsd (distracted by thought of show Life - but no of crs was -) Terriers. as the bad guy (developer, wanted to turn Ocean Beach into an airport) behind the lawyer bad guy.  Hank came up to him at restaurant, went out on balcony, threatened with incriminating photos.

-Caught a ride with a trickster and a javelin man...

-Steel Nina was a girl who set me free...

-Even the idea of Hank and Britt rolling into Harlan in the greatest live action crossover ever has me teary-eyed.

-If, as the season-preview indicates, Karen Sisco can return eight years after her show's overlooked, prematurely-cancelled single season /it was really that good? on ABC ~ I guess try watching an epsd/, why not Terriers?
..when I saw Carla Gugino in the previews. Sisco and Givens together? Winona who?

wkp:  Karen Sisco is an American crime drama television series starring Carla Gugino in the title role. The series was created by novelist Elmore Leonard, based on a character who had appeared in several of his written works... The series debuted on October 1, 2003 on ABC, and was canceled after seven episodes. As a U.S. Deputy Marshal, based on Miami, Florida's Gold Coast, Karen must deal with the underbelly of South Beach nightlife and Palm Beach high life while tracking down fugitives. She also struggles to win the respect of her fellow officers. Karen occasionally gets advice from her father, a retired Miami police officer turned private investigator, who is Karen’s confidant, counselor, and confessor. TV Guide included the series in their 2013 list of 60 shows that were "Cancelled Too Soon."

-I would be fine with this entire new season of Justified being a not so subtle homage to Terrier. Just Raylan and Tim fucking shit up all over Harlan County. And a dog, there has to be a dog.

-Well his tax returns say he sells seashells by the seashore.

* tv-terriers   /fvr. most fvr?; Rectify most my./     //think I'll not create new labels. not likely to post m here am I. if do then ok create. otherwise just let labels be remnant of heyday of my using this blogspot, the shows I got into in early tv (and web) explore days. //

*  tv-justified   /d n know if quite fvr, but tht s2e8 was great, w Mags singing, Dicky dancing, and Coover angry that Loretta gave him a 'wet' (soaked in formaldehyde?) joint: you think I wldn't know? "I'm a professional!!"
fvr maybe for Boyd. along w Raylan but also ~ Boyd's unbreaking unblinking straight delivery of his religious belief in s1.  people unable  (I like scene w cousin Johnny) to read if he meant it or was just that committed to the act.  I guess Raylan straight d n believe it.  seems pretty clear, from end of the arc, when Bo killed all his friends who were following his lead, that Boyd was sincere.
s2 v good scene btw Raylan and Boyd at the courthouse, re security, and Carol asking Raylan if she could trust Boyd.

[[[[[[[[[[[[   script here   worth copy pasting.

so y a  fvr for their dialogue, exemplified in this epsd opening scene.
[[[[[[[[[[[[   script here

though I'd sure hv tht that Raylan knew Boyd was lkg for a fight so as to get locked up so as to get at Dicky; and that was a great unspoken understanding btw them.
wld hv liked that m better.    layered: the fight [real but staged for a purpose, in the way I'd hv writ it] *over* Raylan not 'giving' Dicky to Boyd; and in fact the fight being his way of doing that.
I thought it must have been an understood staging (albeit also an acting out of real tension btw them), especially bcs they seemed to be playing it overly simple in what I guess was just overly expository, for sake of starting new season, poss new viewers:  Raylan: "You think we're in the Holler?   I am a deputy US Marshall."  Boyd: "You are a Givens."  Raylan angry.  ok that's our show!! :)
and what sealed it for me was Raylan saying "I've half a mind to kick..." which does not at all seem his style, but does seem like a good way to signal to Boyd to go ahead and hit him.
and then their repartee as Boyd is arrested, Raylan from the floor: "Hey Boyd, guess you should have worn that suit!"  "I'll see ya, Raylan!"
fits with how the last epsd, finale of s2 played out.  Boyd let Dicky go for the sake of Raylan finding Loretta.  well, okay, I just sort of got that - Boyd: "Are you telling me or asking me?"  Raylan: "It makes you feel better, you can tell ppl I asked" - might amount to Raylan saying that if he had to he would use force to get Boyd not to kill Dicky.  *but* no.  Raylan had been about to walk away.  eaving Boyd w Dicky, and Dicky (moments before beating Raylan, planning to kill him) now begging him not to, and Raylan said ~ I didn't (couldn't?) shoot you, "but I'll sleep like a baby knowing he did."   Raylan only stopped walking away when Dicky made case that Raylan might not get to Loretta without him.   and after all the confrontation that followed,  Raylan cld hardly hv gotten Boyd to Dicky, since all the Marshalls showed up and law was followed, Dicky arrested.   but he can now.
so I am disappointed that in the epsd following this one, s3e2, it is made overt that Raylan d n see Boyd's plan in getting arrested.  (so really, he spontaneously sincerely said "I've half a mind to knock"?); and that when he realizes it, he amends his statement so as to get Boyd released, and gets Dicky put in isolation to prevent Boyd getting to him.
