en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levon_Helm#LegacyLevon Helm - Wkp / Springsteen: his voice and his drumming so incredibly personal * .. one of greatest greatest voices in ctry, rock, ... // Springsteen called Helm "one of the greatest, greatest voices in country, rockabilly and rock 'n' roll ... staggering ... while playing the drums. Both his voice and his drumming were so incredibly personal. He had a feel on the drums that comes out of certain place in the past and you can't replicate it."
George Harrison said that while writing his 1970 song "All Things Must Pass", he imagined Levon Helm singing it.

Rick Danko - Wkp |   * Danko w Levon Helm formed one finest rhythm sxns .. a partnership, subtle intense rhythmic conversatn //in full://
On the Irishtimes.com blogsite, Laurence Mackin wrote that Together with bass player Rick Danko, [Levon] Helm formed one of the finest rhythm sections to ever put a groove to a beat, and a partnership that formed the backbone of The Band.
In Danko, he had the perfect complementary player, one of the finest bassists and one of the gentlest souls.  His music was subtle, his instinct for just the right note unwavering – he could play one beat in four bars, but lord could he make it count.
Their subtle, intense rhythmic conversation brought shape and distinction to the Band's music – it gave it heart and soul.[30]

The Band imo certainly the best //!// white  /cool/  band this cntry ever produced //!! wow.//  az- Ain't In It For My Health: A Film About Levon Helm
-Valuable, if not so easy to watch.  It is a sobering unblinking look at illness, dying, perseverance and a man in some ways trying to come to terms with the vagaries of existence.
At one time the Band was one of the most popular Rock & Roll groups in the country, and imo certainly the best white band this country (or Canada) ever produced.
They must have made untold millions.
[But//] Here we come upon Levon whose medical expenses have driven him to the brink of home foreclosure, and one can't help but wonder how the hell that happened?   Well it apparently is all in the song publishing rights and Robbie Robertson got most of those. Levon is justifiably bitter.
This is not how I'd choose to remember Levon Helm as a sick, suffering albeit game, septuagenarian /y. I tht th.  even nice bit ytube him singing, sad, not so m re the bitterness ok w seeing th maybe,  but just age.  part of wh so great in my clips fr The Last Waltz  is ~ youth ?  so I might want keep that foremost in mind.  maybe see just bit of this.//
As a documentary I'd have to give it high marks.
