This is why it would be misleading to classify buprenorphine as a replacement therapy. It would be equally misleading to classify it solely as an opioid blocker (naltrexone. naloxone /wh used smtms reverse overdose/).

Why Are Manic Pixie Dream Girls Still A Thing? - Outsider Circle - Medium  /via lkg up Looking for Alaska bcs now a hulu show and thinking do john green's novels all hv this ~ pretty m exact mpdg thing rt ?  // and y seems like y.
John Green also published an essay on his website titled “The Destruction of The Manic Pixie Dream Girl”. Truly, it’s a monument to his talent that he was able to write that article with no hands, being as he was simultaneously patting himself on the back and jerking off to one of his own signed headshots.
responds to allegations about Margo, the heroine of Paper Towns, being another example of a MPDG. Green’s defense is that there is a separation between narrator and author, and that the reliability of the narrator is often a tenuous thing. He proposes that Margo is seen as a MPDG because that is the way that Q views her to be- it is Q’s perspective, not authorial insertion that makes Margo into this trope.   /yeah.  it's a story of a guy reacting to a girl this way. so. //   he’s saying that Q, and solely Q, is under the impression that Margo can be, must be the one to save him, the one who will show him the magical parts of life. As Green himself says it, Q’s perception of Margo as a MPDG “only acknowledges that some boys believe in Manic Pixie Dream Girls; it doesn’t argue that MPDGs actually exist, or that Margo is one”.   / ! was not ever meant suggest is a kind of person.  it is a depiction of a person.  a trope character.      a way (often young)  guys experience girls they hv crushes on.  drawn to whimsical usu troubled girl, idealizes, feels life changing.

I think maybe whtvr ~   girls do the same ~  corresponding trope ?   mostly ~ bad boy  I guess   dylan mckay  logan echolls     my "wolf" type    whimsy in mpdg corresponds to  outsiderness   another kind (as whimsical free-spirited is) of boldness, daring, ex of being oneself.
and usually also troubledness.  feels intimate, special, dramatic.

“girls like bad boys’ trope  James Dean  Dylan McKay.  pretty recognized.  had that name.    mpdg trope had not been.    I guess int call out bcs then so recognizable  and  blahblah  bcs 'male gaze' was norm

~  suppose a diffr is that those stories make Dylan an int char himself     ?  well ~ secondary though rt?  Brenda m more the protagonist   Dylan more about how he is experienced by her and Kelly  than about his experience of them rt?!   so.     Dylan objectified mostly?  not a protagonist   ~  we do see him separately sure  but
are there viewers who identify with Dylan?   seems like there prob are but we wld think they were vain    daring cast thmslvs as the  char who ~ evbdy wants.    wh goes to th char is especially about how seen.  being alluring.    ~ object rather than subject.

however    Logan    not just VM or Lily's experience.   no.  in fan eyes, maybe, more so. fans idealize him    ——
but the chars on show d n mainly see him in role of "alluring.”   s2 poss pity Logan.
in a ~ weak position.  do we ever see Dylan seem weak?  “poor” Dylan?  only in re things already foregone, right.  past hurt. ‘damage.’   makes him alluring.  not things he is trying for.  th wld make pitiful.      // so Dylan  as prototyp bad boy?     maybe tim riggins too.
Pacey Witter?    like Logan, though, both more seen as protagonists than Dylan.
guys might relate to without only seeming vain.  well Pacey more than Tim Riggins.
I guess goes to being a sex __     what called  oh rt  really forgot for a sec   sex symbol.   Dylan is.  Riggins is.   Pacey is not exactly.
Pacey  my  monkey type  as contrast wolf.  also appealling!  smwh same way?  irreverent.
(monkey type d n = not as much a sex symbol?  maybe smwh but a funny and easygoing guy can still be.  right?  can be v desired.)
my monkeys and wolves thing.  maybe that just represents more twd funny or twd angry.
wolf  angry  are funny too    darkly :)
monkey also angry?  underlying?   well. was Pacey?   smwh to me ‘monkey’  type  not ‘bad’ I guess, not outsiders.  maybe more the kind of  'bad’ in way the wpost article just read "thought I was a Brandon girl, but wanted Dylan McKay"   talking about, just bcs a lot of wmn attracted to.  so "bad boy" idea as ~ policing female libido, that's why "bad" bcs women do find alluring  ~ wellll no, it is bcs appeal outsider, dramatic, intimate.    is that  ~masculine~ ? appeal    ~ anger  strength
corresponding to ~feminine~ ?  appeal  ~ free?    (from the male world of business and family head.  civilization!   feminine can be one with the earth      “she’s like a butterfly don’t want to pin down”  a nymph )

——      continuing typing now in note not still in bkmrk! on chrome browser:
fans idealize but well maybe like him, too.  empathize *with* him.    and a guy saying that he relates to Logan might seem vain  but also cld imagine  relates to wh we see Logan experiencing.  maybe this is a lot bcs we do see him ~ pining.  not just hurt ie troubled, tortured.  but wishing, trying.  wanting and not getting.  in a ~ weaker position.  do we ever see Dylan seem weak?  “poor” Dylan?  only in re things already foregone, right.   makes him alluring.  not things he is trying for.  th wld make pitiful.
watching s2 vm, possible to pity Logan.  coming into suite w Duncan, the friend he cares about and missed.     [  in re Veronica, epsd or two before, after fight w Duncan, D thinks exposing his hurt re V. “careful your soft underbelly is showing.”  and we do see L as still in love w her, but ~ not focused on?  accepted.  tough about.  “my underbelly is rock hard. I can go all night.”   believe that.  But “where were you?” to D.

watching s2 vm, possible to pity Logan. twopj recapped this one  and says re L coming into suite, Duncan & V there watching Big Lebowski,  says about their reaction to him coming in, are they just annoyed he is there? bcs if so that’s pretty harsh.   /also says, I  like this, that the math of V goes ~ part % awkward bcs interrupted make out session, part % I forget what, and part % happy to see Logan bcs he’s awesome. :)    y I like th.  complicated.  might truly feel dislike for him.  even indifference. it can seem like that, she’s not wistful about.   wld like him not there.   but same time.  he does liven up a room!  I mean he makes it   more int. interesting - intense.  di piero “re work of art, not is it good, but ** Do you want to live there?  **  is it intense in way want to live there.” **
still, in plain way not wanting him there, he is not in the desired position, weak.

he is openly vulnerable with Duncan.
in re Veronica, epsd or two before, after fight w Duncan,
D thinks L exposing his hurt re V “careful your soft underbelly is showing.”
and   we do see L as still in love w her ~  but.     ~ moved on <—   ~ enough that there is room for doubt even.  not like pining. ~ that’s why complaints forum LoVe fans want tidbits that are not getting.  not seeing wistfulness.             —>  cld suppose  moved on, accepted partly bcs really is angry.  at her.     “fun!  having fun!  my girlfriend was killed, my mom died, my dad is a murderer, I’m being accused of murder, and the one person  ~  is abandoning me (? wh said?) …   and you think I’m having fun!”   so he is pretty angry.  not exactly wishing for her, in a presently longing way for her as she is there, at the moment.                 —>   and he’s accepted she’s w Duncan.  not necess bcs his respect for Duncan.   or that he is happy for her w him.  (d n seem like he is.  I guess not, he is angry.   “and now I’ve lost my appetite.”)    but he has to see it   (in way fans do not)   as a done deal.  it’s like the end of this love story, who ended up together.      //read someone  cmmt twop forum maybe   saying this about Veronica.  yes, probably can suppose, maybe we can see   she still strong feelings for Logan  and not simply denial about  (maybe sort of, choosing to be ‘normal’, so not acknowledging)  but also she sees Duncan as non-temporary.  is committed. expects this is her person.   =   ie has moved on.   actually.
so Logan seems like he has also.   moved on.       unhappiness but not ~ trying.  :/ well  wh is wh I said makes pitiful!    ~  he has accepted he lost her.  still pitiable  bcs  it is ongoing.  not past pain.  experience he still wld wish had gone Not This Way.  he is in the ~loser~ position.     Duncan: “You lost her. I didn’t steal her.”
but so Duncan wrong though   re V    “careful your soft underbelly is showing.”       “my underbelly is rock hard. I can go all night.”      moved on.  accepted.  tough about. seems true.  d n seem like dissembling when he says “To hell with V.  she’s in the rearview.”   [but]
“Where were YOU this summer?”

openly vulnerable wanting Duncan’s friendship.  hurt by.     and openly hurt that V left him.   not exactly presently wanting her.  but ongoing hurt by her.        (more pitiable than seductive.  though *to fans* may be alluring!  ~  bcs?   bcs he is just so appealling, charismatic.  so d n matter that  he is in position of not being wanted.    fans see V as wrong.  she actually does want him.  they dfntly d n see Duncan as the desirable one.

p176JENA OSMANfrom “Motion Studies
//this is so good!   beginning ~~   / facing page, odd pages, re Motion Capture

Her body is lifted onto a stretcher for transport, and he clings to her, unseen, like mist. He feels hands move through him to secure her arms and legs, and to silently check her wristwatch device. He tries to keep his breath as quiet and even as possible, but fears his increased heart rate will sound an alarm.
How did they get caught in this net? They had been solid citizens at the company. When interest-targeted for purchases or events, they had purchased, they had attended. When asked to review, they had done so eagerly. They rated products, reviewed experiences, created wish lists. They left the RF tags in their clothing. At protests and demonstrations, they smiled for the police and their cameras. They fed all of their social media feeds. They had dabbled in online revelations and had uploaded video documentation. They had fed the machine so the broker would have plenty to sell. They had been sincere in their efforts. They had been efficient and true to their community. They each had recently received “employee of the month” program loyalty gift cards.
But somehow it had all gone awry. They had tried to keep coherent, but they kept falling apart, and the company had evidence in its archives. Their data profiles sent mixed signals, inputs were tagged as possible bots. At first each had tried to hide it from the other, ashamed of their algorithmic failure, anxious for their financial future. Until one night they confided in each other, surprised but relieved that they weren’t alone in their honest mistakes. They strategized about how to clean up their data streams, their paradoxical profiles, their illegible patterning and unmarketable traces. Now he can feel her heart beating, tucked beneath his own. He tries to get a sense of where they’re going, what will happen to them. Then a black sheet is draped over her and all goes dark

p177 Motion capture was first used in biomechanical research in the 1970s, but was quickly recognized as a powerful tool for animators. In a motion capture studio, actors wear tight-fitting body suits with white reflective markers placed at the joints. Variously positioned digital cameras record the white markers 120 times or more per second, sending thousands of floating point values into a data file. The data files show the position and rotation of the body, but not its muscles or identity; the actor has been stripped away, leaving only movement behind. Extracted (ghosted) action is then used as a foundation for a virtual composition.   …

p178 178All he can hear is an engine. And then the engine stops. And then they are lifted from an interior to an exterior. And then the engine starts again without them. And then it is silent. He waits a long time. If he moves, if he lifts the black sheet and they aren’t alone, his presence will be given away. He can still feel her heart beating against his, but slower, in a deep sleep. He wishes he could move through her, but he is only a transparent skin.
Eventually she twitches awake, unharmed. She throws the sheet, and him, off. He quickly looks around: lush grape arbors, rolling hills, not much else. Have they made it to New Wilderness? She looks down at her wrist and sees that the inflammation is gone. Her body feels sore. She thought she had died. There is a moment of wonder and relief. But something is wrong. When they turn away from each other’s eyes to the place that they’re in, the arbor has become a barren tract of lines and objects, abandoned engineering projects, pipes, a culvert. Then the world begins to erase itself, then redraws back to the wild, only to disperse and decay again. They hold onto each other as if the earth might crack open, but nothing rumbles, nothing shakes. Just the smooth glide and reshuffle of competing landscapes. The barren tract erases, redraws, becomes the New Wilderness. Then the ghost of the former grows and embeds in the new. Then the new leaves its residue in the former, grapes scattered across a plot of dirt.Is this a glitch?

Renee   Gladman

/////y. I like fr wh read (bkmrkd /in chrome?) artist   J— Salz~?   how to be  artist   how to draw  if you write you already draw.  have a way of drawing. th is yours.  making marks.    /////

* p108   I was now on the visual plane. Yet, it was writing that I was doing. The notion of “drawn writing” struck me as a new kind of conversation with prose. It was the writing of a text with its inner syntax somehow revealed.    Recently, when I find it difficult to explain what I’m doing and why I’m doing in clear, expository terms, I turn to a new form of expression I call a calamity (a kind of spiraling thinking essay that departs with no particular idea of where it’s going). I will end my lecture with a calamity I wrote a few days ago:
… Monika Grzymala said, “Drawing was a  process of thought conducted by the hand,”
And we wrote through the hand, even if it were typing, we used our bodies to write. /y./  So, drawing was writing, was how I wanted the quote to go on.    And to write was to think; to make lines was to draw; and lines were the foundation of writing. I made a line, and though it couldn’t be read, the narrative of my line began .  I made a line; it couldn’t be read,  I made the line while talking in my head, which was what I did while I wrote. So, I was writing, but it was drawing that had accumulated.       —adapted from the Leslie Scalapino Memorial Lecture, UC-Berkeley, 2014.    p110

p101 I suppose an alternative title for this paper could be “The body in prose.” But, this isn’t quite right either, because to say that there is a “body,” however abstract we allow it to be, is to place something between the mind and language that isn’t there. //y!!/ And, it’s this absent thing that becomes as I read.  //oh. ~   I say there really is not a body something there.  you say it comes into being  between mind and language  ~  like a  there   ok   sentence as space for living   ~  ~

I talk about how the duration of a passage feels, what am I getting at? To think through these questions we will examine a couple of sentences that appear formally interested in creating an experience for the reader.    beyond a mere transparency (as if a window into a world).  // ~  (‘mere’)

Te frst sentence, taken from Gertrude Stein’s Ida, we read: There she was there was a crowd it was not very light, and she was close against so many, and then she stayed close against one or two, there might have been more room around her but she did not feel that way about it, anyway it was warm being so close to them and she did not know any of them, she did not see any of them, she looked far away, but she felt something, all right she felt something, and then the lecture or whatever it was was over. (13)

Let’s enter another prose architecture, one less complex in structure than Stein’s: We have gotten into the habit of inviting other couples to our house to play cards, and once they are here they stay for a long time. xkcd420 Jealousy - explain xkcd  /the explanatn here actually not on it!    misses that he is talking not to Megan; it's not a lamentation that Megan can never have that experience again.  he's talking to the guy who is marrying her and it is a barb that that guy will never get to experience that falling-in-love again. "hope it stings."  :)  JEALOUSY.

so there's two turns as read it. first, from sweet remembrance "...one of life's great joys" to bitter "and you'll never have it again."   and second, that he is talking not to Megan but to the guy: "Anyway I wish you & Megan the best."

Aphantasia: A life without mental images | Alas, a Blog:
Honestly, before reading this article, I didn’t realize that other people DID have this sort of mental imagery. I mean, I heard other people say they were “picturing it in their mind,” but I always assumed that was a metaphor. So that’s a little bit freaky, to me.              // :)  y!  well I know I am "not very visual"  or "not pictoral"  seems like others see images more clearly.  more solidly!!   picture walking on beach ~ can sorta get backdrop, can try put myself in it, it won't stay.  more like non-vivid glimpses.  blurry sense of wh I am 'imagining'.  can make bit more defined w effort but still cannot maintain it, it  ~   /  it undoes   'undoes'

I Have No Sexual Fantasies Due To Aphantasia - The Establishment - Medium
^ happened read few things re VM on Medium, from there happened to look at

^  via reading reaction to VM   / wh I agree with!!  as below   and also I think the story of these reactions   may already be the more int story than anyth in s4.        except, but they dropped it and by having Logan die (and with no powerful meaning in story) made imposs to return to:
the one int story in s4, very good very impressive to me,  epsd 2 right?  as below:  what happens next .. one of the best and boldest ways that “Veronica Mars” has ever .. he punches a wall and asks her with his knuckles bleeding …  classic Logan enough for you?  she confirms Yes, yes it is.  ..       ……then next morning, very sad.    ///  Logan seemed sad overall.  (I think I wld have liked them to write him leaving her.  lovingly but bcs thinks best for them.  and then, ok, if want let that story go, don’t have him on the show.  have it be a sad loss in her past.  maybe someday come back to, maybe not.)

Jul 19, 2019 - How 'Veronica Mars' Season 4 Fails The Show's Most Interesting ...
What happens next is easily one of the best and boldest ways that “Veronica Mars” has ever ... And when he punches a wall and asks her with his knuckles ...

 https://tvline.com/2019/07/26/veronica-mars-season-4-finale-backlash-logan-rob-thomas/#comment-list-wrapper
-honestly, it’s not about the show having Logan on it. Veronica Mars is the show. It’s about the way Rob Thomas set us all up. For lack of a better word–it was mean.
and unnecessary. Veronica was already sketchy about getting married, he could’ve had Logan give her an ultimatum and leave when she still said no.  //or not an ultimatum.  just, love you and think … //  If something like that had happened, I’d still watch (even with no hope of Logan returning). But by giving fans what they want and then ripping it away, keeping up this narrative that the show couldn’t survive with Logan (which sounds like he’s a lazy writer) and forcing Veronica into staying the same after all these years instead of letting her grow… why would fans come back? It’s not about what he did, it’s the way he did it, and the way he keeps digging the hole bigger and bigger.
-he is acting like Hulu demanded they kill Logan to get another season, or like he couldn’t feasibly write a season without Logan in it. I believe are are ways they could’ve written Logan out (breaking up, Logan being called away) or even had future seasons without Logan (Veronica being called in outside of Neptune for a case, or Logan being absent). Yes, people would be asking about Logan, but they’d still be watching. //y.// I’m sure plenty of people will still watch any additional seasons, but he cut out a huge portion of his viewers by doing this, and this performance he’s putting on like he had to do it, and there was NO possible way he could’ve written something else is a bag of excuses. And don’t even get me started on how lazy he is for skipping the entirety of Veronica’s reaction and grief process. How is that good for the character? Add on to that his comments that the other side characters will be around less and less, and he’s taking away a lot of things people like about the show. He’s the creator, and he can do what he wants with it, but this is a slap in the face to most fans who paid out of their pocket for his last revival. They deserved more.

inquirer.com/entertainment/tv/veronica-mars-review-hulu-kristen-bell-20190718.html   by Ellen Grey, Philadelphia Inquirer   //  I like her!!  —
inquirer.com/author/gray_ellen/     [As a tv critic] I’ve always believed my job is less about [rating, assessing, ‘thumbs, up or down’ ie recommending, panning] and more about the conversation.    The more choices we have, the fewer people in our lives know what we're talking about when we say, "Did you see that?"    And that's when television really starts to get interesting.  // y!  nice.

inquirer.com/entertainment/tv/veronica-mars-review-hulu-kristen-bell-20190718.html      I’ve never quite understood the viewers who resist high school shows even as they tolerate [shows with grown-ups very much acting adolescent]    / adolesc behavior in [say, doctor shows].  But I know they exist, because I spent years trying to get them to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Friday Night Lights.  :)
…    [Personal hurt, d]amage takes many forms, and the  [’unpeeling’  revealing ] of Logan Echolls’ psyche has been one of the show’s most compelling story lines.
The Logan reintroduced in the 2014 movie — a naval intelligence officer who needed Veronica’s sleuthing skills — is now again her boyfriend. More important, he’s a man who’s been working hard on himself (and not just on the prodigious six-pack he sports in his entrance). What happens when one person in a relationship is trying to change and the other resists? We’ll see.   ////but we hardly do!/////

Euphoria ….

… reddit    there to read re euphoria
not much for each epsd on primetimer forum!   and negative!    showing how ppl who are  ~more my demographic?  middle aged, maybe fairly mainstream, careers, kids  ~   are not   not wh?  not on it.   are out of it.  ~=poor taste? popculturally.
there are ppl 40s on euphoria subreddit, though, appreciating it and making sharp comments.   just not the ppl who are on primetimer for most part huh?    (who are the primetimer ppl?   roots in Dawsons Creek fandom! ?  nah, a lot of younger ppl now right.  tamer though.   reddit is subcultures ~  kinds of edge.   well and also just a much bigger huge wide net cast, in wh. )

They Had Us In the First Half |  Know Your Meme
captions in which the first half of the text sounds good, but becomes unpleasant or distasteful in the second half.   /or vice versa   not more often ?   I guess in re GatesOpen sub.  or the original actually.  since: they had  us in the first half, then things turned in our favor!
also been used as a title for multiple posts on Reddit featuring a story or caption that takes a dramatic turn towards the end  /y usage or tone can be pretty dffrnt.
I

When you're an honest man and they had you in the first half // I like th.  here calls it an "anti meme" ok .  just like, the actual situation depicted.  :)  not being applied as a comment on sth else. //   They Had Us In the First Half |  Know Your Meme  |       looked up after seeing on reddit/s/GatesOpenComeOnIn ~  nice sub  "Do I lift? Yeah I lift! I lift your spirits up! ..~ been missing you, let's get lunch"  someone there saying almost every post cld be reacted to as  "you had us in the first half, not gonna lie."  I guess bcs it's like There is a Gate. /first half./  And it's open!  hope you're on the way!   :)       // so expression here is like “you had us going…”  expecting sth else.  starting to have a reaction.  but then!    <3 br="">

I also see “lowkey”  “highkey” constantly now.  not just on reddit but I guess mostly.  so I just wasn’t reading comments by ~the kids~ much before this.
heard and liked it in epsd The Chi.   kid about going to aquarium school trip  (had to work hard to fund raise for)  “Lowkey that was cool”
few mo ago, just watched part.           ((and for some the kids the first time out of the southside? why wld that be though?  bus $2   just not anyth in world th wld suggest going? nothing to invite ~).
> watch that epsd, scenes of kids on field trip.

~bcs      Euphoria so good       feel like rvw  wh ever watched   ~   forget things.     remember rg saying wh if cld see evth you ever eaten. like, fascinating. I  think wh if cld see list ev show ever watched.  or book read ok but to me now show more int, as experiences, things in mind, where fr.  source  cadence  personality.  taken in.  traces left.   and shld be doable.  or nearly.  finite.   accessibly?   like not to include every single thing, childhood too (maybe  not so many more shows anyway.  Fame.  but I revisited that.  so cld count that now.  mainly I mean as current self.  since Chgo.  2004/2006?in earnest following fall premiere season.   then had in mind fvr:  Lost.  Life. VM.  24.        now top y still Deadwood  Rectify  Justified.   and: Leftovers.  Euphoria.

                            cadence  “I mean:  …Yes.”
also bcs   even more so bcs of recent cadence trying to place   feel like trying more or less comprehensive list   //right.  to hold.  lines to keep in mind.//
bcs was thinking of  trying to place   had in mind:   “I mean:  …Yes.”   spoken by female char.  like w turn of head.  cld recall tone pretty closely.  vibe of character.  young woman.  maybe teen. smartish/skeptical.   PLL Spencer ? no  though  in cnnx recalling, a line also I have had in mind, to Hannah, about Caleb.  “He’s dark enough.” *)      said looking at someone, response to one other person, prob a guy.  int dynamic between them maybe.  some kind tension.  line of connection, what is there between.      turn of head like Boyd to Raylan in conversation I like so m, first epsd s3 I think “How much money Raylan?” *   but pretty sure was girl, more mainstream kind of setting.  veronica mars ?  close?  vibe ~  but, maybe verbal sparring, but sorta collaboratively, d n seem  like w Logan.  maybe Weevil.  and yes brings up another line in mind, mainly bcs also a yes, a form of affirmative answer, Veronica to weevil s3   “Oh, righhhhhht.” *   bcs she had interviewed him in class for project, so wrt how classmates wld know his name “Because you told them.”
cool found answer w ease when not looking  as soon as reminded of show.  You.   reminded incidentally, rdg sth else, actress ~ victoria peretti will play Love Quinn in s2 (looks like pretty good casting.  nb s2 no premiere date yet, not soon I guess d n see info re producing).   then easy, oh that’s wh was.  Beck to Joe, in bar, re Peach Salinger.    vibe w Joe d n seem like the int dynamic, but I guess w Peach sort of is.  the incipient vibe joe vs peach.   kind of like “He’s dark enough’ not w tension between spencer and hannah  but triangulated to Caleb.  an assessing.  y that kind of tension *assessing*   boyd to raylan.  spencer suggesting to hannah re caleb.   like as if raised eyebrows.   joe re peach, to beck.
Joe:  “Like  J.D. ? Salinger.”
Beck: “I mean:  …Yes.  but she  doesn’t like to talk about it…!  and she’s a sweetheart.  … her family is just kind of… You know?”
Joe: “Whose isn’t?”
//so here the charisma is Joe.  and Peach.  as characters.  Beck eh ~   but maybe here, and in earier scene out on street w Joe, works as offsetting his charismatic deliveries  “No, I remember.”   (“I guess I have a bland face.”)   “No, you’re not.”    in bar scene, I put the …s  she is sort of drawling, oh I guess on street took, bit drunken.  “but she’s a sweetheart…..”    so her cadence is compelling to me in wh stays in mind, I guess.  just, she is not very charismatically *sharp*.  right?  Joe is.  and Peach.  (Emily, actress Shae, fr PLL.  impressive.  might hv thought not espclly good actor, ppl said th re pll, at beginning anyway? beginner, least good.  Spencer, actress trojan, was always good. rt.  and maybe hannah too.  charisma.    ~ aria char not much of a showcase, maybe.  (lucy hale good. had been noticeably likable, fun to watch, in Privileged. wh there, ex of show I might forget! less so after revisiting streaming. older sister actress all the more an int char? good actress. wh has she done since then?)  and so maybe emily char also.  just not so charismatic.  kind of straight (no irony meant, in re char being gay).  turns out actress can convey totally more complicated *assessing* mind.  so m so as Peach th I hardly make cnnxn between the shows You and PLL  really not at all  though emily and peach same actress one of main chars.  prominent.  well, char Peach prominent.)

*** wld not really put Euphoria here. !   production quality, vibe, wh show is doing.  is not ‘teen’ show.    not so m a distinction re audience.  also for young ppl it is about,    but ok maybe is sort of re audience   Euphoria   partly by necess bcs late night the 10pm slot even after BLL wh makes sense  bcs dark  explicit   but also  as is consistent w the explicit dark   the vibe is for older-young-ppl  maybe still in it  but been in it   looking back a bit (re hs for kids now early 20s.   ~

(well pll too. ~  but ok look when pll goes horror or increasingly over the top, like mona in car w spencer end first A plotling ~ s2, d n seem like a marked temporary shift genre.  rt?  the over the top ness was always there.  as twop reads it, v intly in way over the top and daily. aspects girls lives.  teen girl life.  lipstick th care about and also horror, creepy men.   vm noir though.  in way more serious throughout. ?)
still  very much contrast over against Euphoria
can group:  90210  (and orig bh90210, and dawsons creek) gossip girl  pll  veronica mars   = = = skew down in teenishness, like to middle school age viewers.     adult viewers too esp vm  and to extent pll too  and I guess gossip girl   but appeal  vibe  is sorta like Seventeen magazine   like about being 17    appeal for 13yrlds
even 8-10yrlds.  a kind of glamour. wh feels glamorous young girlhood.  like the appeal of a  pkgd array of cosmetics  received in mail.   body shop.  benetton.   (were for me.)         (( ‘painted life’ just came to mind, but that is not a recurring assoc  not seem v meaninful  just a thought, now  the excitement of nail polish  eyeshadow  get to paint yourself  not just literally like as kid  but in some kind of socially culturally- done way.
this lyric coming to mind  and is th even correct?  painted ‘life’?  bcs just reading re listening vids Depeche Mode.  their song right?  and, a kind of coming circle, was looking at th bcs Euphoria  most recents epsd just watching s1e7 penult  rue saying when on opiates mind d n tell bladder release, so thrfr sit trying, “prob why so many addicts die on toilets”  visual cuts Judy Lenny Elvis  and  wait why did ggl of th (to see: judy garland, lenny bruce… and then just to see wh comes up if put all three, if get gll hits noting all died bathrm or anyth like th, not really, bcs elvis song judy is wh comes up.  then put ‘euphoria judy lenny elvis” and how did that get to depech mode   oh ok happened to bring up a hit to a treatment ctr  vistataos.com/seeking-euphoria-can-lead-to-a-killer-high

start of Gen Alpha’s era is marked by launch of iPad and Instagram [both in year 2010].  also the year that Facebook overtook Google as the most popular website /oh whoa just as a site  in re visits more than ggl !/  in the United States, a stage that few thought ‘faddish’ social media would gain.  connected world that Generation Alpha will have lived in for its entire life..

Netflix's brand is volume * // thrfr wld make this wh is like bad network series ABC soap / 'What/If' Review - Tim Goodman  | Hollywood Reporter | Maybe you've been thinking lately, "If Netflix would only make an ABC soap opera that's dumb and predictable...   /   stars a miscast Renée Zellweger as Anne Montgomery, a venture capitalist ("born of jackals") who has a very familiar proposal for earnest Lisa Donovan (a misused Jane Levy)   ..   Lisa (and, to be emphatically clear, Levy deserves better than this) scoffs at the initial offer   ..   //   problem with What/If is that it's just a bad network series that's on Netflix, a thing that Netflix does /(d n explain why Zellwgr & Levy wld agree be in)/  mostly because its brand is volume  /ok int brand is volume  yes  like comparing az prime  (also hulu?)  wld tend to say  Netflix has MORE   so if only subscribe to one streaming service...
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/what-1213451

problem with What/If is that it's just a bad network series that's on Netflix, a thing that Netflix does more often than you might imagine, mostly because its brand is volume  /ok int brand is volume  yes  like comparing az prime  (also hulu?)  wld tend to say  Netflix has MORE  so if only subscribe to one streaming service...
Netflix just overall has MORE    ~  and higher chance has whtvr movie you are thinking of?

but az prime has int.   more foreign  (or more you wld notice, more featured..  higher chance of any *foreign* film you are looking for?)
and az pr better origs overall ?  high productn quality?  high concept?     man in high castle.   patriot.    sneaky pete. ~    /wh besides man high castle are its other high profile??

so wh is az pr video brand

Netflix volume.      also maybe:   movies, like movie rental   (as it began)  wh you wld hv gone to blockbuster to get ?  hmm.  does not get new movies though does it?  not for long time?  <<
Az actually gets new movies fairly soon.  doesn’t it?   am I remembering recent right?  crazy rich asians    and high quality I wanted see:  Moonlight.  Florida Project.
Az more recent movies sooner? <<

Netflix gets lots full series.  lots   ie volume.
Az does not, as much?  but Az gets the FX ones !!     Justified.  Mr Robot.  also Orphan Black, bbc.    ..   more pbs maybe ~
.. Az more features british.  bbc amer.  also acorn have to add subscrip  but is point access and visible.
bbc amer under umbrella along w channels sundance amc origs on netflix though? ~
Az also features HBO  hv to add subscrip.  but again, is access and visible as option.  associated.   === goes twd brand quality yes.  FX hbo basic cable.  HBO.
    so yes:

Az quality.   ?      ~ relatedly?   I like bcs context !    most *informed*    thinking person’s streamer ?   while streaming, can see info.  on page can read reviews etc.   and can see listings for shows not avail prime free, see if avail purchase streaming  or as dvd.     also more ~  worldly   makes international avail, internationally
Netflix removes context  network not identified  even cut fr intros credits  always?  why? make generic  make ‘netflix’ the provider I guess.  and thrfr hbo fx not on board  << yeah?
       took away reviews.

}  wh wld tim goodman say?   brand az pr.  brand hulu.  as over against netflix (volume. lots. has most.)    <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Hulu  I think brand is: TV.   :)   things airing now.   shows aired before, old, not golden age.  tv tv.     brand ~ accessible ?  mainstream  ?    tv.    ~ basic ~
(does have some golden age  ?   maybe not..  Twin Peaks early golden. precursor.  still, tv.  (network rt?   Hulu d n have anyth not broadcast ?   oh I think basic cable
yeah like USA   I think right    wh on brand  ‘blue skies’ shows (was th just a tim goodman descrip?)    and TNT  that show Good ~  w girl downton abby   justified ish but ~
Hulu is  /was started as? still is rt?/  partnership among broadcast channels  rt?   companies  umbrella   so also assoc basic cable channels
wh?  Disney (ABC ?)  Warner   Fox?   dunno wh company wh networks   / also:  Fox  no ?  not FX rt ?  why wld rights to az pr
does make origs aspire high quality?  handmaids tale —maybe only one of note?   wh others?  another wh won Emmys?            the path ~not high quality  but had aaron paul.

~
hulu basic
az premium
netflix all sort

in cnnxn above, Network brand is volume/most/more/all/acrossboardgenre
Netflix orders two female-led soapy romance dramas as it tries Hallmark-style programs

Netflix order Steel Sweet Magnolias    (oh not Steel   wondered why no one mentioning the movie but only book series (on wh I figured oh movie must hv bn based    about three friends etc

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/netflix-targets-hallmark-pair-romance-drama-series-orders-1147537    Woods’ 11-book series that launched in 2007 with Stealing Home. The 10-episode drama centers on three South Carolina women, best friends since high school, as they shepherd each other through the complexities of romance, career and family. Sheryl J. Anderson (Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart, A Summer to Remember) will serve as showrunner…
as Netflix continues to shake up the industry one genre at a time. After entering the scripted originals space with House of Cards, the streamer aggressively pursued (and paid handsomely) for stand-up comedy specials, animation and now romance dramas as it looks to become a one-stop shop in multiple genres.

Logos like the CBS eye and the NBC peacock have the benefit of decades of brand awareness

“an incredible positive association with the peacock that actually has a halo effect on our new content”

Schweitzer [cbs marketing]  still believes that ultimately it’s the show’s brand that matters most. “Netflix is a supermarket,” he said. “You go down the aisle, see something you like and grab it… The source of where it comes from is a matter of trust and a matter of identification. But no one is saying, ‘What is on ABC or NBC or CBS tonight?’ They’re saying, ‘When is [show name]  on?'”

his top five    I think he said:  The Wire  The Sopranos  Breaking Bad  Mad Men  and   ah  The Americans   ok yes
wh wld I watch again   The Wire
Brkg Bad ok mainly first two seasons  short 2nd season  and third re Gus   wh brings in Better Call Saul  in end might overall leave me feeling all the more positive

/ I d n love Mad Men     well made ~  but not my liking ~ bcs about surfaces?  cracking surfaces  but still not about under   ~  maybe    surfaces advertising    not about depth ~revealed   ~ only as disrupts surface
The Americans  yes great top show  agree.  and I liked.  not super int to watch again but yeah wld be into if walked into a room where was on.
Deadwood I will  am int to   watch   again  more
so my most of int  :
The Wire   s1 and s2 most   s1 great   s2  I actually liked a lot  wanted more like   s3 not as m? politics s4 kids cool  but still s1 and s2 my liking
Deadwood   fvr   if I can have one tv show th I get to watch  thr life  wld I choose th?  truly?  I think maybe.    (unless sth else not as good but fun int engaging hs veronica mars   for logan   ie for someone I just like   ~ but no I’d choose deadwood   OH WAIT   I might choose JUSTIFIED       also  Rectify s1     or at least epsd 1
maybe Deadwood  overall on desert island most able play dialogue and think about.  smart.
Justified wld be bcs actually all the more entertaining.   but desert island, life/death, I’l go with Deadwood.
Rectify for closest to me.  sad.  beginning.   / oh remember   preacher fr Deadwood   this is his show.     go w Deadwood still  on desert island.

24 was just compelling   sitting by window in chgo  smoking     //how many lives have time to feel   in a human life  ?
ohhhh right  was thinking a fourth   ofcrs  LOST
VMars  Life  24  Lost
Lost gets top inclusion.   even above.   s1  for entertainment  /and community, the speculation.  read re GoT but I say more so Lost.  for shared thinking about.  imagining.  I first watched after seeing  in EW ? Ent Weekly  mention  ~ “No other show does wh Lost does every week”     I thought What ?   What does it do ???   still not sure  but might say “blow your mind”    this EW  I think   mention   was after s3 ending  They got off the island !?   “We have to go back……”      and later  The plane comes back together!?
Lost was exciting.   maybe that is it.

oh and btw  Six Feet Under
/  thinking  Lost great story?  well   was the ending?  ~   I think ok but no the ending d n specifically   well wait   it was so weird and fun right?  they got the island heebie jeebie rememberings   pretty What!     so it was ok
thinking re good endings  Six Feet Under  .   recap twop nice guy who did recaps  “Everybody Dies.”     “When this show says the end, it really..”
as a whole show six seasons, more like a soap  ~  just, characters.  things happening.   (is that also true re Sopranos?   <<< hmm, of int to me as a qstn
so, likeable.  but I guess no not   like  thematically  great?   life / death   those openings were cool.   I wld watch again.    sort of int? th the deaths shown were most int, the life was ~ordinary.  (as is? ~ eh.)   bcs not especially into any of the characters.  no one I just wanted to watch   wait   Billy    maybe   jeremy sisco     oh and david  michael c hall    so, good.  not great.

so for now sum
Deadwood   Justified   Rectify
Lost
VMars
Life.   Six Feet Under.

for comedies  wh I guess just not as ~’essential’ to me  ~ cld sort of take or leave  ?  yeah so yeah not ‘essential’  not distinctly want ‘take’   but if I am taking, I like:

A woman has enough to deal with when it comes to her health care without also having to worry about male politicians telling her what she ought to do with her body. Georgia’s abortion ban is a cruel attack on women’s autonomy and freedom  — one that we must continue to resist.

**********************   !!!!!!

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/05/hb-481-georgia-law-criminalizes-abortion-subjects-women-to-life-in-prison.html

On Tuesday, Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp signed a “fetal heartbeat” bill that seeks to outlaw abortion after about six weeks. The measure, HB 481, is the most extreme abortion ban in the country—not just because it would impose severe limitations on women’s reproductive rights, but also because it would subject women who get illegal abortions to life imprisonment and the death penalty.
The primary purpose of HB 481 is to prohibit doctors from terminating any pregnancy after they can detect “embryonic or fetal cardiac activity,” which typically occurs at six weeks’ gestation. But the bill does far more than that. In one sweeping provision, it declares that “unborn children are a class of living, distinct person” that deserves “full legal recognition.” Thus, Georgia law must “recognize unborn children as natural persons”—not just for the purposes of abortion, but as a legal rule.
This radical revision of Georgia law is quite deliberate: The bill confirms that fetuses “shall be included in population based determinations” from now on, because they are legally humans, and residents of the state. But it is not clear whether the bill’s drafters contemplated the more dramatic consequences of granting legal personhood to fetuses. For instance, as Georgia appellate attorney Andrew Fleischman has pointed out, the moment this bill takes effect on Jan. 1, 2020, the state will be illegally holding thousands of citizens in jail without bond. That’s because, under HB 481, pregnant inmates’ fetuses have independent rights—including the right to due process. Can a juvenile attorney represent an inmate’s fetus and demand its release? If not, why? It is an egregious due process violation to punish one human for the crimes of another. If an inmate’s fetus is a human, how can Georgia lawfully detain it for a crime it did not commit?

For now, Supreme Court precedent protecting women’s reproductive rights should bar such prosecutions—and indeed, require the invalidation of HB 481. But the court’s conservative majority may be on the verge of dismantling Roe v. Wade.

Even women who seek lawful abortions out of state may not escape punishment. If a Georgia resident plans to travel elsewhere to obtain an abortion, she may be charged with conspiracy to commit murder, punishable by 10 years’ imprisonment

summarizing C. S. Lewis, who outlines four different sources of laughter in The Screwtape Letters. The first three—joy, play, and the joke proper—are all good things. A fourth, however, is what Colbert/Lewis classifies as “flippancy.” In this context, people don’t actually make jokes but simply talk about serious subjects in a way that already assumes there is a ridiculous side to things. This flippancy distances people, does not increase affection ..   /y!  flippancy = talking about serious subjects in way assumes ridiculous aspect   /y! glib. dripping.  (even jon  stewart   on daily show kind of like this..    he is good natured  ~    however preaching to choir  only      /  it's not thoughtful    or questioning   (or, manifestly, respectful of other point of view, how others might see differently.)

Instead of "charity," he must think about "unselfishness." Instead of "surrendering benefits ... that others may be happy," he must think of being unselfish in forgoing those benefits.  Another useful tool Screwtape recommends is the different viewpoints about unselfishness held by women and men. Women view unselfishness as "taking trouble for others." Men view it as "not giving trouble to others." As a result, they are bound to misunderstand each other's acts of unselfishness, with the result that "each sex ... can and does regard the other as radically selfish."    ...     "the Generous Conflict Illusion."  Each side stubbornly tries to outdo the other in self-righteous unselfishness to the point of resentment and a full-out quarrel. A flood of bitterness pent up over the years then flows. Both sides feel blameless as well as ill-used and manipulated by the other's unselfishness.    //looked this up bcs int in one line summary prvs pgmrk Diabolical Ventril:  Sow seeds of “unselfishness” during his courtship.   //I like not obvs.  subtle.    .. also here chp 27re prayer  /my rephrasing to positive/  distraction will not make less devout, if person is confessing that distraction to God.  here, says better person ignore any problem /failure/ bcs once presents to God in prayer, grows closer to God..

You're not a real addict just because your parents found you with some pills. Come back when you hit bottom." But then they started to talk about... Not only have these babies experienced lows that even the most seasoned alcoholic and addict haven't experienced; the morbidly depressing events they've experienced in their addiction have happened in an incredibly short of amount of time. Most addicts have a story that spans decades. My own story of alcoholism spans 12 years. These kids coming into recovery have been out only a handful of years before the despair of their addiction brings them to death's door. It's humbling and terrifying. It feels more personal and simplistic, so it’s much easier to connect with the person on the other end of the screen through Discord, because it’s instant messaging and not a post on a thread that users may take longer to respond. In a nutshell, it’s a live action Reddit.

--It was almost my exact high school experience. -Saw a podcast where people seriously called the show stupid. I understand it’s exaggerated compared to the average high schooler’s life, but this show is not about the average high schooler. It’s about the most dramatic examples while being relatable about the adolescent experience. - I understand, I’m just saying that some didn’t quite have this kind of experience and this show is shedding light on the more intense ones, sorry if it came off as insensitive!
-I was thinking the exact same thing. Is it that exaggerated? Seems pretty spot-on with a lot of the things I or people I was friends with dealt with. It was refreshing to see it played out on screen realistically, imo  -Everything in this show I relate to. ..Life is crazy and this show captures it bang on for some people.    -I feel like Sam Levinson really did put a lot of his personal experiences into this story especially with the drug use. House of Sand and Fog (film) - Wkp | Mr. Perelman inadvertently exposes the inconsistencies in Mr. Dubus's novel even as he comes very close to overcoming them ... the conflict between Kathy and Behrani arises from a sin so trivial as to be almost comical  /wh is the sin?  ignoring her mail?
nearly flawless execution of a deeply flawed premise. // House of Sand & Fog  FILM REVIEW; Two Flawed People, Divided by a House - The New York Times   2003/12 by AO Scott  /good writ! / nearly flawless execution of a deeply flawed premise. Mr. Perelman inadvertently exposes the inconsistencies in Mr. Dubus's novel even as he comes very close to overcoming them.  |      ..  The film, shot by Roger Deakins, has a somber, elegant look and a style that might best be described as tactful, as if some of the grace and formality of the Behrani household had rubbed off on the director. Continue reading the main story That household, with its polished brass coffee table and overstuffed furniture, is the emotional and dramatic center of the movie. Mr. Kingsley is an actor of formidable reserve, and when he lets it go, you feel as if the world itself has broken open. The deepest pathos comes from the quietest performer, Shohreh Aghdashloo, who speaks very little (in Farsi and broken English) and whose eloquence resides in her weary, lovely face. Next to her poise and delicacy, Ms. Connelly seems a little blank
