Yep. That's what's been bothering me. April should have been big things little. And she isn't. Big things little is also why I think the Lorelai-planned wedding seemed so wrong. And why an off-screen wedding would fit perfectly.
-Also, I know how I feel about the Bush administration – hell, I’ve endured those feelings for too many years, ever since my coming-of-age in the LBJ/Vietnam era. Please don’t count the decades; it’s depressing. I do think I’m qualified to understand the difference between those feelings and my more trivial but nonetheless valid feelings about a fictional TV show. I object as strongly as one is allowed to in here to that comparison. I disagree that our feeling so deeply about a fictional world reflects badly on us. It’s more an acknowledgment of what this show once was, when it spoke to the best in us and gave us that increasingly rare and hence deeply treasured opportunity to find entertainment and escapism in our best not basest instincts.

6.12 Lorelai MEETS April but at Luke's request. Maybe April gets along better with her than Luke? That would make Luke very angst-ridden.
6.13 Luke starts shutting Lorelai out of April diner visits because he wants his relationship with April, not a Lorelai-mediated one...
Lorelai offers to postpone, still sad face, Luke can do his whole overwhelmed thing, and he accepts postponement.
=tweaks offered by massimim. huh, these two are good - adds more interest and reason to LL difficulty involving April (to have Lorelai meet her, get along with her, and Luke feel he needs some time to get to know her on his own).
