so I guess the answer is the show just requires suspension of disbelief.
but geez! it seems like more than suspending disbelief. Alex came out of the shower to find another girl there, his clothes gone, his car gone, his phone gone. Unless we get some alternative explanation, he knows that Louis thoroughly intervened. The show's got to give sth else to think! How can a viewer believe that Alex doesn't know Louis screwed him over?? There's nothing else he could think. I'd like it better if they'd at least offer some lame, incredible explanation -- so that there'd be disbelief to suspend.
this is not implausibility, it's a gaping gaping plot hole. to me.
