Mind Spew: Oh, 1Ls

One of my jobs this semester is as a teacher's assistant to a Legal Research and Writing class. Currently, I am being forced to watch a "town hall" style debate between two 1L's who are running as class representatives for the student bar association for their section.
The contestants are a small Asian girl and a red-headed dude who was once a model. Even though he's not hot.
They have given their speals (we'll get some great parking spots, blah, blah), and their classmates are now asking them questions. Some of my favorties:

1. Classmate to the girl: You're speech seemed to indicate that you're just doing this to build your resume. What are you going to do for us?
Response: Um, well, I would be doing this for myself. I will try to get your needs met, but if you don't like that, you can vote for someone else.
My response: Whoa. You officially suck. I'm voting for the not-hot redhead.

2. Professor's question to the redhead: What would you really do for this class section?
Response: I would bring the group's view to the group, even if I don't agree with it.
Professor: But couldn't your competition do that?
Response: Yes.
Professor: So, are you endorsing her?
Response: Uhhh...
Professor: I guess what I'm really asking is: "Did you have sexual relations with that woman?"
My response: I officially change my vote against the red-head. I am now officially voting for the professor.

funny. I happened this january page of this blog (on wh this is top post) via ggl 'mcdreamy' wh rg was asking abt and saying what I agree with - it's annoying, very, this grey's anatomy name. said as if clever but it has no content, dsnt refer to anything, doesnt seem to be using the mcdonalds prefix to any effect.

I'm in the middle of the first season of Boston Legal, and I'm loving that Alan Shore. He's a little doughy and a little full of himself, but I'd still take him over McDreamy. no contest and 15 yrs ago Spader was hot and wasn't Dempsey just cute. Dempsey is attractive but the character on the show dsnt have much going on whereas Alan Shore has more going on -- intelligence -- than any character I think of.
The other DVD series I've enjoyed over the last week or so is the Showtime program, Weeds. It's a little sad, but very good, and those of you who loved Denny Duquette on Grey's Anatomy will see him in an equally heartbreaking role on this show. ok! note that as sth cld rent when want entertainment. current list - Without A Trace, first two seasons. - Weeds, 1st season I guess.
