-I thought the premiere was pretty lousy, but I was sufficiently impressed with the cast that I decided to give it a second look tonight -- and that was really a vast improvement. agreed.
-I was pleasantly surprised with it this week. They trimmed down Calista's screen time, amped up Griffiths', and the show actually showed quite a bit of heart. yes that's why I am now thinking it's good. it had heart.
-Meerkats!! For that reason alone I loved this episode. (prvs page - p.16)
[in motel mom says 'what are watching?' and brother says 'meerkats' (actually porn? minute before said to Calista sth about checking out -) and mom says 'those meerkats are naked, give me the remote.'] I watched Meerkat Manor (for first time) this past Friday. swivel heads and up on feets and faces up to cameras underground in their holes.
--Which reminds me the new season just started.
-What an improvement over the pilot! Seriously, it's like a whole other show compared to that. Not that the pilot was bad, but this was just...SO good. The will reading was very interesting to me. A lot of set up and just told the whole direction of not only the episode but future episodes I'm sure.
"Thank you for the 'if', Kevin, it was very sweet." and "What the HELL are we watching?"Hee. Sally Field was amazing tonight, not only with the drama as has been mentioned, but the comedy too.
The rant in the costume shop, the scene outside the police station as everyone has mentioned (the scene inside it was pretty funny too), the scene in the hotel room with Kitty and Justin. Great stuff, all of it. ...I was so impressed with tonight's episode. Acting was great, characters were even more interesting, writing was better.
