Boston Legal - TWoP Forums p301:
OLucy--Jerry might have 'brought it on himself,' but while Jerry was being completely obnoxious, it's not like it's something that Alan couldn't just walk away from. But what Alan did completely devastated Jerry. It wasn't a proportional response. right. I still want to hear an articulation of what so offended Alan to trigger this. what was he feeling?
LateJuliet--Alan and Jerry's storyline was one of the more powerful TV watching experiences I've had in awhile. ... Jerry as all Hands again waiting for Alan in the hall, the subtext of his fear and pain in his face and voice, cutting Alan off and walking away. And you can see Spader working it. Alan wanting to fix it, wondering how, knowing he can't, his guilt and hurt, all in just a few wordless seconds. Truly stellar work by both of them.

dreamist--This episode was beautifully crafted, and should hold up for Emmy, GG noms particularly for Spader and Clemensen, but also for script, direction and so forth. Powerful. It was incredible to watch Spader's face when he went in for the kill in the hallway. Every once and a while we see Alan's immoral, amoral side, but it's usually an intellectual and calculated exercise for him. right. This? seemed more like a demon that reared up and controlled him. To me, the fascinating thing was Spader's transformation was so authentic - not an exaggeration, not overtly dramatic - the visible release of something powerful and destructive at an elemental level. Clemensen's reaction was equally expressive. The way the script and direction took us from Alan and Jerry's delighted reunion, to the conflict in the courtroom, the confrontation in the hallway, and the conflagration and aftermath, all in one hour? In less than an hour! with commercials and 2 minor SLs (? oh two minor 'storylines' I guess) was masterful. I throw roses.

nice, dreamist. I'll watch for your posts...
