russell crowe, when nicole kidman asks him what he remembers of winning his Oscar: the chair disappears out from under you.
in his acceptance, he said: for those who are on the down side of disadvantage and relying on courage - it is possible.

the conversation they are having seems more serious and sincere than the one between julia roberts & george clooney. nicole kidman just said "wait, let me finish that statement, because that is going to sound like a superficial answer and I don't like to give those."
she is really impressing me. I have found her cold onscreen. but here as herself, she seems intelligent and warm and open.

Fripp.com How Do You Accept an Award? Tips on How to Give an Acceptance Speech: Show-biz can provide wonderful examples of great acceptance speeches. When Russell Crowe won an Oscar for The Gladiator (2000), he dedicated it to 'Everyone who has seen the downside of disadvantage.' Then he got the 2002 Golden Globe Award for A Beautiful Mind. First, he gave credit to the characters in the film, offering special thanks to 'John and Alicia Nash, for living such an inspirational love story.' He added, 'A Beautiful Mind is just a movie, folks, but hopefully it will help us open our hearts ... to believe that something extraordinary can always happen in our lives.'
well he speaks well. intelligent. whatever else is true. rg says he is a bad person. with kidman, he spoke about how temper and anger are different. temper wells up, comes out, then is over. he said people think he is angry and he does not know where it comes from.
