pubs

-Clear Cut Press -- noticed in back room 5 copies of [Orphans - essays by Charles D'Ambrosio] autographed & on new book cart (but not just pub'd?) .. ggl .. author v publisher, hrm. I think clear cut press seems cool. at lst, I like the design: small paper w dj. bought the Lisa Robertson (poet) one ~ Soft Architecture walking tour or sth. ...so, what's their deal?
-----read dlcs marked pages re D'Ambrosio discontent

-GreyWolf Press -- no it's actually Graywolf isn't it? - current top in interest. better read some to see. that non-fiction contest sounds great.**
-----read dlcs marked pages re them... bk that recently got my attn is Shyness & Dignity (?)
----- in past I have conflated this press w the sjc-tied press called? green wolf? publisher of Appolonius's Conics & of Newton & I think also of some none program, current writings? of faculty? and are they in santa fe?... ah ha gotcha. it's GREENLION. *Vernacular Press - oh my dears. AnthroOfAnAmerGirl was so up my alley. Hamann, I am sending you the manuscript** of the book I am not likely to write if I in fact do.

-Melville House -- (what's their blog turned podcast site called?) - nice little house colophon. small sized bks. interesting & intentional founding...

New Press -- also intentional founding. much non-fiction that is probably well brought into publication.

*Other Press -- their many psychoanalytic books consistently interest me. & their (I think small) fiction list is interesting & at lst sometimes v appealling.

Dalkey Archive -- a favorite in theory but how many of their books have I loved? maybe just one: Billy & Girl. by D Levy.

NYRB -- like them in theory *and* just about every book is either actually apealling or I can see how it wld be (and feel just not in mood for classic prose). their new childrens series brought out Charlotte Sometimes. !.
