Windows Live Hotmail Tour
-can drag&drop mssgs to folders good.
-reading pane lets you preview mssg without opening a new window GOOD
default is not to show first mssg in folder. change reading pane under options.
ok. I like keeping hotmail since it's an address I've had since sjc (I think... though I used my sjc telnet email mostly). huh in 199 even 2001 internet really was not so pervasive. used it, but not constantly.
anyway so I am used to the look of hotmail as the frame for mssgs from people I've know since then. and not so currently...
and I like having an email where I can put things in folders.
but it's been annoying ~ that if click on link, opens new window, feels unsmooth unintegrated with the wider web. whereas gmail very integrated of course. and it's plain text, so links do not copy. might be able to change that under options somewhere. but maybe switching to "live" will change the default.
so gmail for daily use. hotmail for longer-standing correspondents & business.
sbc (wh I have been using almost never) *maybe* still for chicago specific ie rg.
Hi, maro!Friday, June 8
Mailbox usage: 1% of 2 GB
cool. I cld even re-up my mariachristinacassimatis for isps (assuming 1) that hotmail account has closed again) & 2) I am still getting isps emails since no one took me off list even though I did not maintain membership after one year.
You are using the classic version of Windows Live Hotmail.

Power, control, and flexibility like Outlook or Eudora - any mail reading program (software)
Preview your messages without leaving your inbox. Select from:
* Message preview to the right of the list. hmm cld be nice-
* Message preview below the list. try this first since used to it fr Eudora
* No message preview.
Use rich interactions to read and organize your mail easily.
* Use keyboard shortcuts, such as arrow keys
* Drag and drop your messages into folders.
* Right-click on e-mails to discover what actions you can take.
cool. good good.
(We think you'll love it, but to switch back, just go to Options.)
hmm. I wish showed more than just 10 mssgs. have to scroll. to see the 50 that are nominally on the page. and also have to scroll to see all folders. no ability to drag boundaries of page elements to make these sections bigger. (with resulting smaller preview, which would be fine.
so, bcs of this, might choose the option to have reading pane off.
it is nice that the option change (click on options upper-right) is immediate, without going to another screen first.
yeah full screen list (reading pane off) is better since visible list is not so short, and anyway loading the mssg takes not longer than it does when it's in the "pane" rather than a new screen.
great that I can sort now! by sender (very useful for looking at busynes mssgs fr chase, at&t, etc). or by date.
what Iid like to see change is dfntly the size of the elements, ability to drag the borders - eps for the folder list! let me see all my folders on lefthand side, it wouldn't be hard!
