You can't miss the bear.

(Omar: "you come at the king, you best not miss.")

Weeds 4.8 "I am the table" | TWoP recap by Jacob, p8 | Every second that goes by that you want your fix or get it: that's the tunnel down; every second that goes by that you don't feed the bear, that's the tunnel up.
Infinite Jest says th smartest thing about addiction & recovery. cld say th entire novel comes down to this, wh is that the thing that gets you into it is thething that gets you out. You become addicted to sth little by little, min by min, day by day. The thing that gets you in is the thing that gets you out. Little by little, min to min, you don't feed the bear. Every second that goes by that you want your fix or get it: that's the tunnel down; every second that goes by that you don't feed the bear, that's the tunnel up. .. And the real bitch about addiction is that feeding the bear is a lot more fun, and there's not really a good reason to avoid doing things that feel good when the alternative is feeling horrible. Bcs we always put addiction btw us & sth really bad, whatever it is, that we don't want to look at: that's the real bear. nicely said jacob.

and tonite I watched then read:
Weeds 4.11 Head Cheese | TWoP recap by Jacob, p2 | James Merrill... ; Nancy sighs."When did the floodgates open?" Guillermo: "When the water got here."
Sanjay's reading one of the Knopf James Merrill editions, I think Changing Light At Sandover. I looove James Merrill; I wish he were famouser. I wonder what he would think of this show. I think he'd love Nancy; I think he'd love Celia more. lines fr Merrill poems thr rest of recap, & musing re Merrill p4, bttm, re electricity (poor kicking long dead frogs, me thinking: does he mean Maxwell? no: James Merrill) .. Nancy sighs. "When did the floodgates open?" And Guillermo's not saying anything Heylia didn't say that first rainy day: "When the water got here."

Weeds 4.11 | TWoP recap by Jacob, p9 of 9 | It's all we ever do: pain and loss, grief and need, loneliness and madness.
It's all we ever do: pain and loss, grief and need, loneliness and madness. "How did this happen? What did I do?" You had boys. "Do you like to party?" Depends on the party. "When did the floodgates open?" When the water got here. It's the water gets you clean again, too. Every life is a Rubik's Cube, and Esteban's right: you can never completely solve it. But we live, and we try.
'No honey for the vanquished? Art is art.
The life it asks of us is a dog's life.'
nice threading of Merrill thr recap, having noted Sanjay reading a James Merill book. bold of jacob, these uneasy recaps.
Outside, on other side of glass fr us -& fr Guillermo, fr th tunnel, fr th truth- her hands shaking. .. She worries at the cube, the puzzle, in a beautiful bower. "Thank you for coming. I know you're busy." She's so sad, and tired. Till sits across fr her. Law enforcement was always th bad guys, on this show, same way therapists are always th bad guys, if they're doing it right. This next part's going to hurt.

uneasy.
