MacBook Air models and part #s
good to get! 11" part # MD711LL/A was 2013 (or 2014 711/B = or 2015 MVJ--)
MacBook Air - Wkp # Specifications https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacBook_Air#Specifications | 2015 release like the MD711 is model A1465 (the next model after mine). only this year is there a newer model (mine is third set model #s, am lkg to get the next so ~ 4th 'generation'? - this year 5th came out. not bad. oh and 5th is only a 13" no 11 in. so! the A1465 model is latest 11 in. either MD...2012-13 or latest is MJV... March2015

^ bkmrk note thinking out. here goes more organized……………..
MacBook Air - Wkp # Specifications
note all part numbers end w LL so ignore that. then/A or ?B (difference?) I guess B later release
2011 MC96.. prob wh I have (/A) y seems only one in 2011, and I lookd on underside cmptr d n hv part #
but says “1369” searched pg for, y for 2011 releases (13") Model number (on underside) A1370 (11") A1369 (13") mine
model #s all start A prob for Apple so ignore that.
ok so,
first two macbook models
2008 first model 1237.
…late 2008, and 2009 second model 1304.
then my year:
2011 Model # 1370 (11”) [saw this as Part # MC968 (128 GB) listed az as “Old Version.”]
Model #1369 Part # MC96_ whichvr part # is the 256 GB I got. } so these 2011 releases = THIRD model /“generation”? MacBook Air
then after my cmptr only one new model, released the next year 2012 then w diffrnt part #s SAME model next three yrs , 2013, 2014 , 2015 release = FOURTH model /gen MacBk Air
2012-15 all same Model # A1465 (11") 13” model # 1466 }
for 11” Part #s 2012 MD223. 2013 MD711/A [on az linked fr above to this as: “there is a newer version” /ie newest]. /nb however there ARE newer year part #s … 2014 MD711/B. 2015 MVJ—.
2017 released a new model but only in the 13” Model # 1466 Part #s MQD— so as of this year 2017 a release of new now Fifth model /gen of 13” but NOT of 11”.
ie MOST RECENT 11” is still the above FOURTH model /gen from 2012, 2013, 2014, or 2015.
so if I get a CERTIFIED REFURBISHED Model # 1465 11” 2013 MD711/A
I am getting the most recent generation, right after mine. that part # would be 2013. beyond that there were more recent - no change to model, but actual hardware less olf - made in 2014 and 2015.
(may be able to tell which year by wh OS, unless they have upgraded for me to most recent Sierra. )
2013 is fine! 2013 release was June. so just passed four years old.
whereas mine is from 2011, only release that year was July, so just passed six years old.

^ copied fr frfx bkmrk note thinking out, plus after copying already modified.
plus from textedit doc copying below more organized:

(may be able to tell which year by wh OS, unless they have upgraded for me to most recent Sierra) made in 2014 and 2015. so sure if see those for same or not much higher price (currently lkg at 7 11 for 695 ie ~ $700 for 128) then get instead. if good listing shipped by az (guaranteed by az?) and seller high rated and multiple reviews (currently lkg at one with~ 83 rvws) then get that, all the better. but,
2013 is fine! 2013 release was June. so just passed four years old.
whereas mine is from 2011, only release that year was July, so just passed six years old.
also if see 256gb, am interested to get instead:
again, if not much higher than $700 (for the 128) and likewise good listing
-shipped by az (guaranteed by az?)
-seller high rated and multiple reviews ~ 50+
