Nip/Tuck: Plot Holes Are A Curse Upon The World - TWoP Forums p909&back:
-I just knew that James was responsible for the Kidney storyline, which I find strangely intriguing because of how ridiculous it is. the organ thievery (nurse Liz was a victim) comes together with the Michelle being blackmailed by a woman (James) who met her in the parking lot and kissed her -- which Liz oversaw. but, it's coincidence right? Liz wasn't hit on as a victim bcs she had overseen (and thereby caused trouble for Michelle)?
Kimber is a fruit, and Co$ is a fruity cult, but I'll be damned if she wasn't spot on in her assesment of the Porche anyway (so right in fact that I was rooting for Matt to get away from the deprogrammer when he ran into his church homies). Which means the fallout from this will not be good at all. I'm scared. Hold me.
-why is Kimber apparently doing so well financially if the church drains member's wallets? If she's solely working for them as a recruiter, she must have risen high in the ranks in a short matter of time. Of course it rarely hurts to have a blonde "10" on your sales team.
-She isn't that far into the process (Tom Cruise just reached level 7, and he's been in since I think the 1980s), and I think working for the church pays for some of the e-meter readings. I don't think you have to be terribly far in to do recruiting. For someone as wealthy as Kimber (I assume she has a lot of money), they probably won't drain her as badly. It's the common folk who really get screwed over.
--Loved Julia's verbal smackdown of Kimber about screwing up all the men in her family and how many more lives she has to screw with. But Kimber got the last word when she noticed Julia's ring. Looks like it worked on you too. (money instead of love.) -Yes and it was sooo nice of Kimber to slap Julia down while wearing those cheap thrift store clothing and living in her little dirt floor shack. Oh, wait, she was wearing $700 shoes and living in a Million dollar condo.
-I thought Liz was targeted because of what she witnessed in the garage. I believe Michelle was behind it, but it could have just been James. Either way, it wasn't random. oh.
-[Michelle] looked too shocked and remorseful that Liz's kidney was taken. I think Liz was an intentional target, but I think James was told about Liz seeing the James-Michelle makeout session and took matters upon herself.
-I thought after the last scene that Michelle never was an actual prostitute (or an "escort", or any other money-for-sex worker), but that she had always stolen organs for James, and that was why James put her through med school. I figured that when James told Michelle "I'm short a girl...and you're the best," she was talking about Michelle's organ-stealing abilities.
-I should have figured it out how she talk about just missing out being a doctor and how the other girl was a med drop out. Yep, it all makes sense.
-I hate the kidney urban legend storyline but it's obviously not going away.
-For those who wanted a recap follow this link http://socialitelife.com/2006/10/05/niptuc...sh_out.php#more: "Michelle is tired of her threats, and James is playing both sides as she tells her she'll tell Christian about the photos if she doesn't do what she says. This bitch is crafty. James needs her for "one more job", and yeah, I have thought this was all about hookers but wait for it. ...And we close with James and Michelle in the hotel room of the guy she has picked up and drugged. Because they're taking his kidney! They're not hookers, they're organ thieves."
-And let me say again that Dawn was hilarious - saying her husband is irresistible, comparing him to K-Fed. Great charcater all around.
-Rosie [O'Donnell, playing Dawn Budge] was indeed surprisingly good and three-dimensional.
-Defamer posted 27 grand seconds of the Dawn/Christian sex scene, enjoy
cmmts on this episd start on p889 ~ still to look thru: 900 -906 ...
(backdated to 10/3 date of this episode.actually read on 10/6 .. ) ...now 901-3 read
-I was watching a show on TLC last weekend profiling lottery winners and there was a Florida guy who lived in Palm Beach and had the exact same level of tacky decor as Dawn. All Louis XIV, and chandeliers from European mansions and hotels, and way too many statues. More money than he knew what to do with.
this was another sort of ~ urban legend ~ at lst, sth y hear abt: person wins the lottery and it ruins thr life. [here, Rosie-Dawn walks in on husband and daughter (not his) having sex, and laer comes home fr her paid-revenge-sex where she talked abt how this husband loves her (and did before she got rich) and find a note that they've gone back to Pensacola "you were more fun when you were poor."
--I really felt for [Rosie's character] in that last scene. -She really sold me there, when she picked up the letter and read it out loud ("You were more fun when you were poor"). Rosie acting the hell out of a dramatic role. Who knew?
-I can't believe I'm saying this but Rosie was great. She wasn't annoying at all and I wasn't repulsed by her in anyway. I was intrigued and sympathetic. Oddly enough, she came off as more three dimensional on this show than she does in reality.
-Since when do all Scientologist males wear the kahkis and button downs? They reminded me more of the door-to-door Mormons.
-The Khaki clones emerging from the dark hallways? Creepiest moment ever (and, somewhat undermines RM's claims of an unbiased portrayal, some might say). I was expecting Kimber to get Matt to sell the Porsche to help him move up the e-meter.
-- As far as I know, the Scientologists aren't building up an Uzi collection or mixing a batch of poisoned kool aid. Calm down and leave him alone for awhile. -It's not like Scientologists just randomly go around and kill people. It's a concern because that 'church' controls all their members, and sucks every penny out of them.
-Kimber may be a nutty clam, but what does it say when she seems like the only decent person on the show? I know its all going to hit the fan, but good on her for finding some inner peace and I loved her smackdown of Jules.
